Police Break into Miguna Miguna's House in Runda, Arrest Him

Self-declared general of National Super Alliance's National Resistance Movement (NRM) Miguna Miguna was dramatically arrested by police officers at his residence in Runda estate in Nairobi on Friday morning.

The former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant becomes the second opposition leader to be arrested for involvement in the controversial swearing-in of Nasa chief Raila Odinga on Tuesday.

Ruaraka Member of Parliament TJ Kajwang, who alongside Miguna administered oath on Raila was arrested in Nairobi on Wednesday afternoon and was arraigned in court on Thursday.

In a statement, Miguna said that police illegally raided his home with plans to assassinate him. “They have arrested me. They have bombed my house and broke everything They are still here. They are searching all rooms. It is an assassination squad. I can’t speak They are still here looking for me. We need our youth here in numbers. My house is number 486 Runda Meadows. It is urgent and dire.”

“The police have bombed their way into my house. I can’t speak on the phone right now. They have ransacked the house!!” Miguna tweeted.

“Some are still hiding in the compound and my house hoping that I make a move so that they can shoot me and claim that there was a ‘shootout!’ I’m staying put! We need our youth here in large numbers!! 486 Runda Meadows!”

Miguna had on Thursday dared Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi to arrest him for overseeing the swearing-in of Raila.

Speaking to the press, Director Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti confirmed his arrest, saying: “He (Miguna) publicly declared that he is the general of NRM, which is already declared a proscribed group. By the time he declared publicly, there was a gazette notice by the minister. How can we let it go? We are law enforcers."

“He also said he is going to lead people to burn portraits of a democratically elected president. Then what do you expect from us? He also confessed he is the one who administered the oath,” said Kinoti.

They need to starve this rebel. Hopefully, this will make him drop weight and lower the energy in his mouth. Treason is punishable by death. So, we need a Hangman right now.
