Nairobi MCAs to Decide Fate of Miguna Miguna's Nomination as Deputy Governor

The nomination of self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general Miguna Miguna as Nairobi Deputy Governor is set to be tabled before the County Assembly for debate this week, Speaker Beatrice Elachi says.
Speaking on Power Breakfast show at Citizen TV on Monday morning, Speaker Elachi said the nomination will follow due process regardless of whether Miguna is in the country or not.
“We will table the motion before the assembly this week, I don’t want to talk much about it as it is a matter to be discussed before all members of the County Assembly,” said Alachi.
“Once it is tabled this week then from there it will move according to the Standing Orders.”
Sonko forwarded the fiery lawyer's name to the Speaker on May 18th for vetting and approval, but the Nairobi County Assembly was on recess at the time. The House resumed its sittings last week after one-month break.
“I hereby forward my nominee, Lawyer Miguna Miguna to undergo full vetting process and approval by the County Assembly for the position of Deputy Governor,” said Sonko in the nomination letter.
“The nominee meets all the requirements provided for in the Constitution, the Leadership and Integrity Act, the Elections Act and County Government Act.”
Miguna, however, appeared to reject the offer after he described it as a malicious distraction.
"Those are malicious distractions. That’s what I’m saying at this moment," Miguna said.
He added via Twitter: "Sonko and I have not spoken, met or communicated since our gubernatorial debate in July 2017. I will not comment on malicious information, material or cheap propaganda circulating in social media. Thank you."
Nairobi Members of the County Assembly will vote to either approve or disapprove the nomination after the debate.

Sonko is “non compos mentis”. This means he is not of sound mind. Sonko's level of education, his past association with gang members, his lack of sobriety and his thug life disqualifies him from making decision for the people of Nairobi. Sonko's decision to nominate a declared terrorist as a deputy governor of Nairobi clearly shows how misguided he is. Nairobians have suffered a lot under the hands of terrorists and the last thing they want is a terrorist to run their lives. If Sonko wants terrorist Miguna to become a deputy governor, he should talk to the governor of Mogadishu to nominate him as a deputy governor of Mogadishu since Miguna's support base is with al shabaab and other terrorist groups

This nomination is an insult to all good people. There is nothing to debate. There are thousands of young, educated Kenyan citizens who are able and willing to do this job without offering it to a self declared egotistical provocateur. Kenyan politicians never cease to amaze me. Corruption, has became a tradition as far as governing is concerned. When are we going to wake up??????????
