NHIF CEO Geoffrey Mwangi Arrested By DCI Detectives

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Friday evening arrested National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) Chief Executive Officer Geoffrey Mwangi.

Mwangi was arrested alongside NHIF Director in charge of Finance Wilbert Kurgat over ongoing investigations into alleged corruption at the company.

The two were summoned to the DCI headquarters along Kiambu Rd and were arrested upon arrival.

Daily Nation reports that the two are accused of using their positions to block ongoing investigations into claims of graft at the State insurance company.

The two are said to have frustrated detectives' efforts to access crucial documents and offices at the agency.

Another day another corruption case; will the catch and release remain the order of the day? how will this justice ever defeat evil and deter anyone from putting their hands in the big jar? I am of the opinion that some institutions are more corrupt than individuals are.
