Nairobi Governor Sonko Gifts Adopted Son Brand New Mercedes Benz on His 19th Birthday
Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko gifted his adopted son, Gift Osinya, a brand new luxury car as he turned 19 on Sunday.
Sonko shared a video on Facebook of his son driving off the convertible Mercedes Benz, believed to be worth millions of shillings.
"I can remember your moment of tears during the first difficult days you joined us as a family, but today I tell the rest of the world that the devil is a liar and God wiped your tears with abundant happiness and love. Osinya you are a gift of blessing as part of our family. May you be gifted with life's biggest joy. Thanks for being a wonderful son to us. We are so fortunate to have a fantastic son like you," Sonko wrote on Facebook.
Sonko adopted Gift in 2015 alongside his younger brother Satrine Osinya after they miraculously survived a terror attack in 2014.
Their mother was killed during the attack where terrorists stormed Joy Jesus Church in Likoni, Mombasa, and shot worshippers indiscriminately. Six people died in the raid.
Satrine, who was 18-months-old at the time, was left with a bullet lodged in his head and had to undergo an operation at Kenyatta National Hospital to remove it.

Sonko, you have a good heart. But giving this kid a vehicle is not right. You could have invested the money for the child and that would have benefited him more in the future. What is the Benz gonna do for him?

Sonko have invested enough for his family frm muua hills thro Machakos to Nairobi. However, the boy is too young to be responsible with such a car. NEVER! It is total extravagance.

Me thinks Sonko is looking for something from the public...pulling his 'human' side to get accolades and mostly so approval, validation of sorts...anything that can boost likability ....campaign has many forms, especially in Kenya.

Wonder how many billionaires (let alone those whose wealth is questionable) would buy a high end car for their offspring. You have to leave them with a certain level of motivation so they can yearn for better by themselves.
While those who voted for Sonko starve in the slums and other lower middle income households, Sonko is busy buying what they(voters) can only wish for in another life.
Me thinks it's insensitive for any public figure in Kenya to do this and post it on FB for all so see. Even those who took money bags to church are no longer dishing to those in need.

Sonko should be cooling his heels at Kamiti for obvious reasons. Whatever happened to the law on restitution? All his bank accounts and mattresses should have been confiscated a long time ago.
