UK-Based Kenyan Faith Healer Charged with Selling Fake COVID-19 Cure for £91

A UK-based Kenyan preacher accused of selling "plague protection kits" as a bogus cure for COVID-19 was on Monday arraigned in a London court.
Appearing at Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court, Bishop Climate Irungu Wiseman was charged with fraud and unfair trading offenses. The 46-year-old self-declared prophet is alleged to have offered the package, containing a small bottle of oil and a piece of red yarn, for £91.
Irungu, who is the head of the Kingdom Church in Camberwell south London, claimed the mixture of cedarwood and hyssop could protect users from coronavirus.
The clergyman pleaded not guilty to a single count of fraud and two charges under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations between March 23rd and 24th.
The charge sheet read that the accused person claimed the concoction advertised as “Divine Cleansing Oil” or “Divine Plague Prevention Kit” could be used to treat, prevent, protect against or cure COVID-19. He is alleged to have made the claims in person, online, instructional videos, and through testimonial videos.
Representing Southwark Council, prosecutor Ryan Thompson said claims were made that the oil had cured at least 10 people in phone calls to the church during the investigation.
He said the charges involved selling a fake cure for COVID-19, adding that there was a risk of death and harm to persons who bought the oil believing it would help save them.
Defense attorney Maeve Thornton said the case involved the freedom to practice religion.
The case was sent to Inner London Crown Court where Irungu is expected to appear on September 13th.

Yes, Iam aware that I will be attacked by saying blind faith does not work.Just because you strongly believe that something will happen does not make it so,especially if you do nothing to effect change, using scientific ways.
No amount of prayers will heal abroken leg,or a blind person. For you who disagree with me, we have paraolympics games coming up in Tokyo.Just about all the participants have disabilities. I will pay your way with your healer,we shall pick one disabled athlete, and have your healer heal him or her. This is a big international stage and the healer gets " notoriety" and worldwide attention.Followed by trips to the bank...
@ Sukari, yes its all about taking advantage of the vulnerable, and desperate .You notice that money is involved. For those who follow the son of mariam, you know that he healed the sick for free.He set examples to follow. So this is the litmus test.If a preacher does not deliver,he is fake. Dont listen to excuses. Jesus never gave excuses. Its that simple.Dont complicate it.

Wazungus are not that gullible! They can never trust a black man with such voodo stuff; and especially when it comes to in jesting that junk.
They tend to be more careful than the village Kenyans attending Irungu church!

There are about 4,300 religions in the world. What many billions of "religiously hacked" people fail to understand is that religion is a human-made institution which is a by-product and an extension of people's culture, history, languages and traditions.
There are two very aggressive religions in the world that currently disregard other people's names, languages, cultures, and history. I don't have to identify them here by name, because we all know what these two religions have done to the descendants of MECAP (Most Exploited Continent And People). MECAP should be the new name of "Africa." Why? The name Africa comes from a man born in Spain man named Leo Africanus. What a shame that MECAP would even call its land a name from a descendant of Europe.
These two extremely aggressive religions made a fortunate by first, exploited the labor of MECAP's citizen through slavery in diaspora for centuries. And second, by exploiting the natural resources of MECAP. The wealth that we see in Europe and other European occupied lands in the world was made by the sweat, hard labor, and the blood of MECAPS. It is a shame that anyone of MECAP's ancestry would become a member of these two slave-colonial based fake religions.
Brother Irungu (I refuse to address him using his slave-based fake and insulting names) has joined the club of exploiters who take advantage of the weak-minded people who believe in slave-colonial based religions. He should be deported to Kenya where religious tycoons exploit the weak and the defenseless people without the fear of being arrested and facing the judges.
In conclusion, I would like to respect and acknowledge our ancestral religions because they did not proselytize or spread their religious beliefs to their neighbors and beyond.

On point!
It is unfathomable that even followers of foreign deities are not thorough even enough to read their own literature!
Does it not state within one such volume that "herbs are for the healing of the nations"?
Wazungu are crooks ... Since they cannot make money (through patents) selling herbs that MUNGU made and are available to everybody, they attack anyone who threatens the profits to be generated by their poison pills.
Has anyone studied the benefits of cedarwood and/or hyssop before denouncing their use?

Unfortunately, some of us have been sold on ūthamaki without ever wondering who gets to be mūthamaki where the proceeds go and why it's the same recycled garbage only interested in power and money for themselves who keep inheriting power (inheritocracy anyone?) To that end the thieves get protection even though the chief victims are themselves "andū aitū". Throw in the complete belief in a religion that was used mainly as a tool of the colonialists to the demonization of a system of beliefs that led to a fairly egalitarian society and you end up with pastors like Irungu and thieves like Wanjigi, Koinange and an endless procession of Kenyattas and their cronies etc to the detriment not just of Mt. Kenya people, but Kenya at large. And no, Ruto isn't the answer, there are governors who have already proven their abilities.

Get your acts together and find another job such as being a thief, and then you can have all the liberty to tell lies as you figure how to steal!
Stop lying to people while you are extorting them of their hard earned money! What you are doing is corruption of the highest order! For real!!! Stop it guy! Stop it!

You ought to be deeply ashamed and sorry for lying to your church members. Where do you draw the line? You are the man church members should come to for solace when stuff like what you are doing happen to them!
Then you are taken to court by your church members for stealing from them, and you have no shame to plead “not guilty” when you know very well that God is watching you lie here on earth to His people!
Irungu - who is your God? Why not tell the truth to the judge, then apologize and ask for forgiveness of your sins both to men and God!? Is it that difficult that a man of “clothes@ have to lie to people and God too?
That’s why you see people do not want to come to church these days because most of you preachers have turned out to be the worst conmen in the world!
How are you going to tell DP Ruto not to steal our coffers while you are directly stealing from your church members? No wonder Ruto is the Holiest of the Holy Ghosts when he is lying inside the church!
Did you take your wine in the name of the “blood” that Jesus shed on cross last Sunday service??? You should have taken two good cupful sand confess your immoral sins!

As for Irungu, you can never be righteous when a foreigner has given you a set of foreign beliefs and foreign rituals to follow.
These foreign religions that established themselves using a bible and a gun will soon exit the scene. The moral bankruptcy of these religions is being exposed.
As our people seek righteousness, those religions will have no place in the "black nation".
Moral bankruptcy of those religions in Europe has left most church buildings empty and soon Afrika will follow.
All our fake pastors and bishops will either quit or engage in other profitable business.
Everything has a beginning and an end. Those religions replaced our shrines and they have run their course. Their time is slowly coming to an end.
It's time for righteousness not religion!!

Every living being on this earth is obedient to MUNGU's LAWS of living, except for most of humanity.
As long as most of humanity insists on being disobedient to MUNGU's WAYS, so shall humanity continue to collectively suffer.
Afterall, MUNGU is not bound by time/space or death. Like all good parents, MUNGU remains ever loving and supportive of younglings, the latter's pompous ignorance withstanding.

Maswali, maswali, maswali. Whose Mungu, who is Mungu, which Mungu's laws- Mungu wa Wayahudi, WaArabu, WaHindi, WaChina, WaJapani? Vipi wasioamini? Na vipi Waafrika na imani zao tofauti? The God of the Arabs and Jews is particularly bloodthirsty, vengeful and petty and promises to punish people for their ignorance here and in the hereafter and visit it on their children(he said it). Is that the one you are calling merciful?
