Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok Appointed Head Ruto’s Campaign Secretariat

Deputy President William Ruto has named Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok as the director-general of his campaign secretariat.

Ruto, who is eyeing the presidency in the next year’s elections, says Nanok is the most suited person to head his campaign team.

During his recent visit to Turkana, the deputy president asked residents to allow their governor to accompany him in his countrywide campaigns so that they can form the next government together.

"I want to thank you people of Turkana for allowing your governor to come and help me as the Director-General of my presidential campaigns so that he plans all the issues of the hustlers in our government in 2022,” Ruto said in Lodwar.

Nanok, who was elected on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket in 2013 and 2017, says he joined Ruto’s camp because he is confident that the deputy president will win the 2022 presidential contest and form the next government.

“People have to ask themselves why I left the other side. For those who have joined the other team, they are joining the other team because of the money of the deep state. As we head to the polls, I want to assure you that the deep state is the Kenyan who has his/her voter's card,” the two-time governor noted.

Ruto, 54, has pledged to revive the country’s economy and create millions of jobs through the bottom-up economic model if he becomes president next year.

A little learning is a dangerous thing; drink deep, or taste not the Persian spring: there shallow draughts intoxicate the brain, and drinking largely sobers us again. He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone. All this ongoing "Thieves" nonsense. Who among the politicians in Kenya can claim innocence from stealing from the regular Mwananchi?...The people calling Ruto a thief, who's your choice and I'll send you articles to prove they're not as innocent as you all think. LET THE BEST AMONG ALL THE THIEVES WIN...Better the devil you know than the devil you don't know...

@ Murume:

Are you seriously trivializing what happened to the innocent old men, women and children as they were roasted alive in Kiambaa church in Eldoret? Are you justifying theft and murder as normal and okay with you?

Are you a PLEHOC?

Humanity

@Imara Daima,

Funny how we choose what to care about and what not to care about at all. What happened in Kibera is no less of What happened in Kiambaa. What happened during Mau Mau???..I have people even from my own family missing body parts and many died fighting for my our land only to be owned by chosen few. Is not yet Uhuru so the hustle continues...
