Court Orders Arrest of Embu Governor Martin Wambora

A Nyeri court has issued a warrant of arrest against Embu Governor Martin Wambora and three other county officials.

This comes after the four failed to show up in court on Tuesday for sentencing after they were found guilty of contempt of court last week.

The court found Governor Wambora, County Secretary Jason Nyaga, Finance and Economic Planning Executive John Njagi, and his Chief Officer Ruth Ndirangu in contempt over failure to remit the Kenya County Government Workers' Union statutory fees despite a court order issued on December 1st, 2020 instructing them to do so.

The Embu County government has failed to remit statutory fees to the county government workers union since 2020.

Judge Njagi Marete of the Labor and Employment Relations Court instructed the OCS for Nyeri Police station to arrest the four and present them to court.

The case will be mentioned on March 17th to review the progress.

This man is always involved in something; if it is not impeachment it is court cases. Someone lied to me that "Wambora" in the Kiembu language means one who is supposed to suffer.
