They Got a Better Deal, CS Bore Responds to Clash With Gatanga MP Over Karen Home

Labour Cabinet Secretary (CS) Florence Bore has come forward to dispute the allegation that she has unlawfully occupied Gatanga MP Edward Muriu's home in Karen's Amara Ridge.
In a statement, she asserted having negotiated with the vendor's lawyers to reach a consensus on the purchase price for the house. The CS also confirmed that she had signed her part of the agreement and sent it to the vendor's lawyers, who subsequently stamped it in acceptance.
“In compliance with the respective clauses of the agreement, I sourced a 10 per cent deposit from my Sacco and paid directly to the vendor’s lawyers’ account via RTGS. It was a term in the agreement for the sale that the completion period of the transaction was 90 days from the date of signing the agreement. We agreed that I take occupation of the house while I retreated to seek a mortgage facility for the balance, which I legitimately expected to obtain within the agreed transaction period of 90 days,” the CS said.
On Saturday, Mariah Muriu, the wife of the Gatanga lawmaker, accused the CS of exploiting their absence when they left the country to attend their daughter’s graduation to enter the property without consent. She indicated that the house is registered under her and her spouse's ownership but they had listed it for sale.
“It was two weeks ago when she came to my home and gave me an offer of Sh90 million. I told her the least I could take was Sh120 million and she left,” she added.
When Ms Muriu returned to the country, she had assigned contractors to undertake renovation at the house only to find it was occupied. Her contractor Peter Kariuki reported that the occupants contacted the police and accused him of trespassing.
Bore blames the MP and his family for the issue, accusing them of trying to forcefully evict her children from the house while she was abroad.
The CS further claims that the couple induced the drama to “unlawfully disassociate from the agreement ostensibly because they have found a better deal.”

Convert 10m into partial rent and dissolve deal. Is it worth buying a 90-120m house in Kenya?. Value of house goes down and land goes up. Weird. I would rather invest in rental
