Chebukati, lIEBC Commended in Portugal for Upholding Electoral Integrity

Former IEBC chairperson, Wafula Chebukati, was on Wednesday honored at the 19th International Electoral Affairs Award Ceremony in Portugal.

On behalf of the commission, he graciously accepted two accolades for their effective implementation of the 2022 elections. The commission triumphed in the Election Management category while securing a commendable second place in the Election Ergonomic category. Chebukati conveyed his immense joy at being part of this historic event. During his address, he highlighted the commission's utilization of technology to guarantee elections that are equitable, transparent, and secure.

He posed the question of whether technology can eradicate impunity in elections, concluding that even with the best use of technology, it cannot fully eliminate chaos, as demonstrated during the declaration of the presidential results. Despite this, he commended the independence of the IEBC, highlighting its freedom from interference. The former IEBC Chairman emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in the electoral process.

He stated that the IEBC is committed to providing regular reports on its performance to the people of Kenya as well as to the President and Parliament. He also emphasized the importance of technology in building trust and guaranteeing the accurate representation of the people's desires. Chebukati encouraged the commissioners to work towards a future where technology and the electoral process harmonize flawlessly, thereby preserving the honesty of elections.

We have several misfits currently elected as members of parliament because Ndugu Wafula Chebukati did not adhere strictly to the minimum requirements of personal and individual good character required in Chapter 6 of our New Kenyan Constitution. One elected member of parliament claimed to have finished high school and attended a business college was later found not to have completed his seven grade education. Yet, this person was elected last year and is in the current parliament courtesy of Wafula Chebukati.

He (Wafula Chebukati) is not fit or deserve to be given any special award for letting wolves, hyenas and scavengers run for an elective public office during the last election of 2022.

I think you are missing a point here.He clearly states that even with technology the system can still be fooled. Yes there some without proper qualifications buy the individuals have done a great job at fooling the system. Sometime its easy to gossip but difficult to prove. Wafula may not have been in a position to dig deeper without again apearing biased.

This is the first time in the history of journalistic acumen the @totogirl has said something that many can support! She really must love those very old men with kipala running all the way down to the south of the flat head! She just said the truth no matter her past romantic relationship with Chebuchietha.

Always proud of you, Wafula. The crooks that wanted to shed blood on innocent Kenyans should be ashamed of themselves. Thank you for upholding our constitution Chebu!

People who are as idiotic as you are think the rest of humankind is like them. Shame on you. Did you even successfully graduate from high school, let alone college? You seem so ignorant about how developing economies like Kenya are run. Uhuru left the economy wearing a stonemill on its neck that Chinese loans are, as well as those from the Bretton Woods institutions(World Bank and IMF for your information). He knew what damage he had already done, only to try to have RAO succeed him and cover his mess. But RAO has no development record, Kibera being a clean testimony(15 years as MP), also talking from his stint at the top leadership during Kibaki's rein. Make no mistake Baba is a great guy though, especially representing the oppressed and leading demonstrations. Period. He is no president material, unfortunately. Go sleep now, boy.

Why are you bitter to a man who is telling you the naked truth? You can insult others all you want but that does not change the real facts. You may have graduated high school (and perhaps attended college) but maybe more often than not you basically reason like a Toddler @mtenja! Cursing others does not get rid of the truth! It just makes you look like mere juvenialistic turd (mafi ya mtoto)!

Why don't you just tell the world that you're the same idiot writing insults up there? You started it yourself as my initial post didn't insult anyone and was just an opinion just like any other citizen's. Shut up mavi ya mwenda wazimu.
