I'll Skip October 17th Repeat Election Unless Ezra Chiloba is Prosecuted, Raila Vows

Opposition chief Raila Odinga says that he will boycott the October 17th repeat presidential election unless the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) CEO, Ezra Chiloba, is fired and

Raila says he will not participate in the fresh polls unless drastic changes are not effected in the electoral commission.

Speaking while on a campaign trail in Kajiado county on Sunday, Raila, who was accompanied by his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka, insisted that Chiloba and his team must be prosecuted for mismanaging the August 8th general elections.

"Chiloba team must go home. These were the prime suspects who were involved in the shambolic elections. They should be prosecuted for election offences.

''We are here to thank you for the overwhelming support you gave us during the recent shambolic election that was cancelled by the Supreme Court following major irregularities. However, we still maintain that we are not ready to participate if the people we mentioned are not fired,'' Raila declared.

Kalonzo called on voters to turn out in large numbers and send the corrupt Jubilee government home.

The Orange Democratic Movement leader had earlier accused President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto of attempting to force the the Opposition into the polls with a faulty IEBC.

"We cannot be forced by Uhuru and Ruto into going into the poll if our conditions will not have been met. IEBC messed us up and we cannot entrust our votes to them again," Raila said.

Raila hit out at President Uhuru for claiming that he is the President. He said that Uhuru lost executive power after August 8th poll.

"I want to tell Uhuru to stop threatening me that he is the President. I want to remind him that his powers ended on August 8. He is not Kenya as I also represent many Kenyans and we are not in a dictatorial state," he stressed.
