Kenyan Diaspora Invited to Contribute to National Development Through Skills Transfer Program
The Kenyan government is launching the Kenya Diaspora Skills Transfer Program.
The initiative is designed to leverage the expertise and experience of Kenyans living abroad. This program aims to harness the potential of the diaspora community in driving the country's Bottom-Up Economic Transformative Agenda (BETA). The program recognizes the vast resources, both financial and intellectual, that the diaspora holds. By creating a platform for knowledge exchange, the government seeks to tap into this valuable asset and bolster Kenya's economic, social, and political development.
Kenyans residing in Rwanda and Uganda are among the first to be invited to participate. The program will focus on key sectors where Kenya faces development gaps including ICT and financial technology (FinTech), medical technology, agriculture and food security, the blue economy, and the creative economy. Those interested in contributing their skills will be connected with relevant organizations.
The program offers various avenues for engagement including virtual training and mentorship programs, on-site workshops and seminars, collaborative research projects, internships and exchange programs, business incubation and investment support, short-term work placements in Kenya, and opportunities to participate in corporate social responsibility programs.
Kenyans in diaspora are encouraged to express their interest by registering online at https://form.jotform.com/241143110909042. This program presents a unique opportunity for the diaspora community to directly contribute to Kenya's development and shape its future.
