Kenya has recently garnered international recognition for its spirit of generosity, ranking second globally in the World Giving Index 2024.
This accolade reiterates the nation's propensity for charitable acts, extending beyond mere donations and volunteerism to encompass the elevation of everyday individuals who capture public attention. A notable beneficiary of this collective benevolence is Bradley Marongo, a 27-year-old Kenyan man whose extraordinary height of 8 feet has catapulted him into the national spotlight. Marongo's visibility surged following his participation in protests against the Finance Bill 2024, where his towering presence commanded attention from both the public and media outlets. As Marongo's prominence grew, so did his opportunities for brand collaborations.
He has secured partnerships with Khushi Motors and Robimax Auto Trading, both Mombasa-based car dealerships, to serve as a brand ambassador and engage in marketing initiatives across East Africa. His influence extends to the tech sector with Mobile Hub Kenya gifting him a smartphone and featuring him in promotional content. The tourism industry also took notice, with Bonfire Adventures offering Marongo a complimentary three-day holiday and mentorship opportunities. CEO Simon Kabu enthusiastically shared Marongo's visit to their office on social media platforms. Luxury brands, too, seek to align themselves with Marongo's unique appeal.
Bed Palace, a high-end furniture wholesaler in Nairobi, hosted him for a bespoke shopping experience and featured him in marketing materials.
Marongo's reach even extended internationally, with Zam Zam Electronics, a major phone retailer in Dubai, inviting him for an all-expenses-paid trip to the Middle East. Beyond commercial endorsements, Marongo's story resonates on a personal level with many, including politician Alinur Mohamed. Upon learning of Marongo's lack of essential identification documents, Mohamed pledged assistance in securing these papers. He further demonstrated his support by offering Marongo a fully furnished one-bedroom apartment with three months' prepaid rent, along with new attire and footwear.
Despite being married with two daughters, Mitchelle and Chantelle, Marongo reports that he continues to receive considerable interest from women. While acknowledging his newfound fame, Marongo expresses a desire to leverage his notoriety for greater financial gain. Marongo's educational journey was curtailed after primary school in 2012 due to financial limitations, and he has never had the opportunity to meet his father. Currently employed as a tout, Marongo earns a modest 300 Kenyan shillings per day, which he finds barely sufficient to support his family in Vihiga County.

Comrade,
He will be broken as fast as he was elevated.
Is that why nobody has taken a chance on him?
Why cannt Kenya National Basket association take alook at him.He is relatively young... Of course I know it takes more than height to succeed in basketball, but surely with intense training,I believe he would at least be a C grade bloker.Probably better than what we have now.May his expose on Mwakilishi will open doors, and windows...
Andre the giant didn't last long in WrestleMania and transitioned quickly. This giant is like the pre Noah flood nephilim. He is in bad shape physically. No game but let him enjoy the fifteen minutes. Now being a Luhya is another disability in bad eyes. Spirit of pulling each other down is second to none
I wonder why he was not spotted earlier or was he? At 27 he is a little too late for NBA,but again you never know.At 8feet he does not even have to be that athletic. All he has to do is learn how to block the basket ball... This limited skill in the late Manute Bol from Sudan, used to irk Charles Barkey so much that he would say " my grand mother could score more than Manute..."
Well one thing Iam sure of,he is will never have a shortage of female attention.I can admonish him to stay disciplined and faithful otherwise,I foresee some rich old mama from' Kansas' wooed and smitten by his height taking him to the gym,and turning him in to Adonis. Heck Iam even going far, In Nairobi alone,Iam sure there could be a fleet of mamas ready for him...
Yeap, just"clean" him a little bit, give him personality,or should I say cultivate in him"celebrity image" and voila you have Mr. Kenya.I volunteer to be his agent.
