Jubilee Accuses Media of Favoring NASA

Jubilee Party has accused the media of favoring National Super Alliance (NASA) in their coverage. Speaking during an interview with NTV on Sunday, Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju hit out at the media stations, accusing them of tilting the news stories to portray the government in bad light.

Tuju said that the media was covering the opposition false allegations without verifying whether they were factual or not.  "Yes, to the point that you favor NASA. It is obvious you favor NASA from the way the stories are framed,” Tuju said.

"For example, the unga thing, during the time I was in media I would have been more analytical about that. Have you checked how much a two-kilogram packet of maize meal costs in Uganda? It is Sh202, Kenyan shilling equivalent, in Arusha it is Sh150," he illustrated.

President Uhuru Kenyatta also expressed similar concerns during a press briefing last week, where he urged the media to conduct proper factual research before publishing some claims by the opposition.

Whether the media is favoring NASA or not, Tuju makes a valid point. The media doesn't make an effort to verify the validity of some of the stories they push out.
