Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i Orders Deportation of 41 Foreigners over Smuggling of Contraband Goods
Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has ordered the deportation of 41 foreign nationals from Kenya. The foreigners are said to have been involved in illegal trade and smuggling of contraband goods into the country through the port of Mombasa.
The deportees were arrested during a crackdown on illegal traders and contraband goods in different estates in Nairobi. Others were also found in possession of fake work permits.
The Ministry of Interior said a majority of them were found in possession of illegal gambling machines, which are sneaked into the country disguised as car spare parts.
Speaking early this week when he supervised the destruction of more than 500 illegal gambling in Dagoretti, Nairobi, CS Matiang'i warned that those found engaging in the business will face the full force of the law.
"This business is destroying the lives of our children. Some of them are not going to school. Let us stop pretending. We must stand up and call sin by its name for the sake of our children," he said.
"It is working against the President’s 100 per cent transition from primary to secondary school. We shall not accept it.”
Most of the deportees are Chinese and Indian nationals.

Good job matiangi for good job well done but it’s nonsense to hear the thugs r deported??Jail them first then deport them after serving their sentence just like other countries do or spray them with bullets?
Wr patiently waiting for kebs,port authority officials n border protection officers to b jailed to if they cleared this machines,sugar n other counterfeit illegally at the entries.otherwise show off mingi achia raila who Wr used to.

Good job Dr. Matiang'i. No criminal should be spared from the long arm of the law. I see the list lack Nigerian names and that shows enough is not been done. Nigerian fraudsters have flooded streets of Nairobi due to president Uhuru's policy of relaxing Visa entry restrictions to African immigrants. Nigerians are using Kenya to open up internet cafes branches to target Europeans, Asians and Americans in their infamous advanced fee or 419 scam operations. They are also involved in money laundering business, counterfeit money making, drug trafficking, human organs trafficking, rapes, murders, low and high end scams such as bitcoin scams, email scams, etc. Nigerians are the number one scam artists in the World. They are years ahead in that business having started it in 1960's and they have become stealth. They are so professional that US government secret service set up a task force dedicated to dealing with them. Since it's hard to know who is who among Nigerians the only policy that works in deterring them is to not allow them in the country. Kenya need to do exactly that!!!
