Alleged Quack Doctor Mugo wa Wairimu Detained for 10 Days to Pave Way for Investigations

Alleged quack doctor James Mugo Ndichu alias Mugo wa Wairimu has been presented at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi following his arrest on Tuesday night.
Mugo was arrested in Gachie, Kiambu County by Flying Squad officers on accusations of running an unlicensed clinic in Nairobi's Kayole estate. He had been on the run for about two weeks.
Senior Resident Magistrate Bernard Nzakyo has directed that Mugo be detained at Pangani police station for 10 days pending conclusion of investigations into the allegations levelled against him.
Last week, NTV investigative journalist Dennis Okari exposed how the fake gynaecologist has been conducting illegal activities at his new clinic among them offering abortion services, sedating female patients and sexually assaulting them.
Mugo had been arrested in 2015 for operating an illegal clinic in Githurai and allegedly raping sedated female patients.
He was charged with several counts including obtaining money under false pretense and employing unregistered lab technicians. He was later released on a Sh2 million bond with a surety of a similar amount.
