Uhuru Locks Down State House After Four Aides Test Positive for Covid-19

State House has been placed under lockdown after four employees tested positive for Covid-19, according to reports.
The discovery of the four cases led to the introduction of stringent safety protocols at the president’s official residence to prevent further spread of the disease, Citizen TV reported.
As a result, movement into and outside State House has been banned until further notice.
In addition, the Executive office block that houses the offices of President Kenyatta and senior State House officials has been partially locked and only a handful of members of staff will be allowed to access the facility.
President Kenyatta also canceled all planned meetings inside and outside of State House and will instead hold virtual conferences.
On Monday, State House spokesperson Kanze Dena confirmed four workers received positive Covid-19 results after they took tests on Thursday.
The four whose identities and positions were not revealed are receiving medication at the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral, and Research Hospital.
At the same time, Dena assured the country that President Kenyatta and members of his family were free from the virus.
"To strengthen Covid-19 containment measures, extra access protocols for State House staff residing outside the compound and visitors have been rolled out,” said Dena.
She added: “State House would like to inform Kenyans that His Excellency the President and the First Family are safe and free from Covid-19.”

The government needs to stop this trend before it gets out of hand. Implement more lockdowns and prevention strategies. A night curfew when people are sleeping is useless and doesn't help to stop the spread of COVID-19. COVID-19 spreads when people interact with those infected mostly during the day. Use common sense and science to have an effective COVID-19 response.
