Israel-Hamas War: Kenya Blows Hot and Cold After Clash With AU Stance

Israel-Hamas War: Kenya Blows Hot and Cold After Clash With AU Stance

Kenya appears to have revised its stance on the Israel-Palestine conflict, making it clear that its condemnation of the violence is specifically targeted at acts of terrorism.

During an interview on Tuesday, Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Korir Sing'oei confirmed that for a long time, Kenya has strongly opposed terrorism and denounced it. Due to previous devastating incidents, the State made it clear that the statement issued by the President concentrated solely on recent global terrorism activities, with zero relevance to longstanding opinions regarding Israel and Palestine's situation. The PS reiterated that Kenya remains a victim of terrorist attacks and condemns them unequivocally. There were observations implying that Nairobi's views should remain in line with the African Union, which historically does not categorize the cases in question as terrorism, alternatively pointing towards a peaceful resolution.

Dr Sing'oei clarified that despite recent escalations of violence, Kenya remains committed to advocating for a peaceful resolution and endorses the two-state solution. However, there are concerning breaches of international humanitarian law involving the attacking and destruction of non-lethal facilities and targeting civilians. President Ruto has condemned all acts of terrorism and violence, emphasizing that they are criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of the perpetrator or their motives. Since the initial raid in Israel, the conflict has escalated into a series of rocket launches and airstrikes, resulting in a death toll of nearly 2,000 people on both sides. Israel has declared "war" on Hamas and imposed a blockade on the entire Gaza Strip.

Both Kenya and Rwanda have urged an end to further attacks and called for de-escalation, The President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo has offered condolences and denounced the terrorist attacks. Yesterday, churches in Kenya conveyed their unease regarding the innocent lives taken in the ongoing strife. Amid the current clash in the Middle East between Hamas militants and Israel, The Kenya Conference of Churches and Ministries' (KCCAM) religious leaders, led by Bishop Geoffrey Njuguna, expressed their explicit denunciation towards the hostility. KCCAM has previously demonstrated solidarity with Israel, yet some have rebuked Israel for responding with excessive force when met with Hamas' offensive actions.

This latest in the never-ending series of Palestinians/Israelis conflicts is beginning to dent the pocket books of waheshimiwas who own employment recruiting companies because they will now not be able to traffic domestic workers to the Gaza Strip. No worries though, they can still traffic them to Ramallah, Bethlehem, and the West Bank.

Yes. Hamas is a terrorist group.Their actions is to send terror in to the Jews, and kill as many as possible.Kills them where ever you find them so says the Koran...
Iam not saying that the Jews have no blame. When you live under the conditions the palestinians are subjected to in Gaza one can certainly understand why some of them kill the Jews...
The question now is,does Hamas represent Palestanians? Well they won elections, but are their terror acts supported by the larger Arab community,I say NO.
Yes Palestinians should have their own homeland,so should the Jews. This is the position of the UN as well.
So what is the problem? You might think that this is simplistic, but the root course is deeply rooted in their religions. If only they could put their religions aside for the sake of peace.Yes Iknow Iam taking of an impossibility, but if all these years no solution has come forthwith, why not try the"impossible".Heck dont discount the possibility that religion is opium of the masses...Opium=drug.
We are supposed to be smarter than our fore fathers. Just consider the knowledge we have amassed, and what we have done with it interm of scientific achievements. We have solved so many complex human problems. No need to cite them, just in your house... So why is this Israel/palestine conflict so hard to solve? Are we not smart enough?

Ndugu @ Maxiley, you believe wrong. Did you know that the word “HAMAS” is an Arabic acronym?
It stands for:
Harakat Al Muqawama Al Islamiya. In the English language it means, “Islamic Resistance Movement.”
You pointed out that history is not a priority in your worldview. It’s important to heed the words of wisdom from the late Ndugu George Santayana who once said:
“ Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE:

1. Originally migrated from their land of birth, Babylon in the present land of Iraq and moved East to Palestine.
2. They migrated again to Egypt during an historic drought, lack of food, and remained there as slaves and illegal residents of Pharaoh.
3. Moshe (Moses) lied that the Jewish deity promised them a piece of land which was already occupied by the Palestinians.
4. Moshe arrived at Madaba, In Jordan but did not get to the “promised land.”
5. During the Roman occupation of Palestine/Israel, they demolished the temple built by Solomon and dispatched the Jews to Europe.
6. They (Jews) lived in Spain until 1492 when Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand forced the Jews to convert to the religion of the late son of Mariam and they refused. Those who became followers of the religion that’s based in the son of Mariam remained. Those who refused migrated East and settled there until Adolf Hitler took power and killed over 50 million people.Among the victims of Hitler’s madness were 6 million Jews.
7. The lying British government convinced the Arabs to join them in fighting against the Ottoman Empire in return to getting their independence.
8. Palestinian was under the Ottoman Empire.
9. When the Ottoman Empire lost, the British took over the rule of Palestine.
10. Theodore Herzl wanted a Jewish homeland before the end of the First World War. Therefore, the UK Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour promised Theodore a possible homeland.
11 A little bit earlier in 1902, 1903, the British had earlier proposed to settle Jews in the current Kenya/ Uganda. The Jews made an attempt to settle in their new promised land in East Africa but the British settlers who were already there were very hostile towards the Jewish settlement among them.
12 After the Second World War, the UN partitioned Palestine but gave the Jewish illegal immigrants more land than the Palestinians.
13. The artificial state of Israel was created on Friday, May 14, 1948.
14 During the 1967 War, Israel annexed Jerusalem and other Palestinian lands.
15. The UN passed Resolution 242 and 338 asking Israel to relinquish the newly acquired Palestinian land but USA vetoed the UN Resolutions.

SOLUTION - SULUHISHO

Since the Palestinians had nothing with what the Germans did to the Jews during the Second World War, the State of the current Germany should be partitioned between the Germans and the Jews.
I
@ Maxiley:
I have deleted the word “terrorist” in my active vocabulary. Why? In Kenya, when the Land and Freedom fighters were making an effort to regain their ancestral homeland from the Illegal British land thieves, the British called them “terrorists.”
Ndugu Maxiley, history is like oxygen. Without oxygen you can die after only four minutes.

I’m conclusion, remember the words of wisdom that I mentioned to you earlier:
“Those who cannot remember the past, are condemned to repeat it.”
- George Santayana

Ndugu Suluhisho, every oppressed people have a right to express their frustrations, just as much as colonized people have the right to free themselves,by any means necessary.
Back to the beginning, didn't King David, and Solomon rule the present Israel? And they were Israelites...
I think we all agree that what Hamas did was reprehensible.
Btw,yes,Iam aware that Hamas in an acronym. And that these two sides have been killing each other before Hamas was founded for years.
If Hamas is a freedom fighter outfit, why do they want to destroy Israel? Why dont they want a two state solution?
Gaza belonged to Egypt, and West bank to Jordan,so where is Palestine?
@Ndugu Suluhisho,Iam looking at the big picture. This two warring parties have been going at it for years.Supposedly as intelligent and knowledgeable as we are, what is so hard about solving this never ending war. Both sides are tired of the atrocities. This cant keep going on in a supposedly better world.OR A SHRINKING GLOBAL VILLAGE.Are we not smart enough, despite the miracle wonders we have invented or discovered in the last 100 years.I guess not.

When a resolution was passed by the UN about Iraq possessing weapons of mass destruction, you know what happened to Iraq and its people.

Earlier, when the UN passed Resolution 242 & 338 against Israel occupying Palestinian lands, it was vetoed by the US. The Israelis have continued annexing Palestinian lands without any consequence. Do we really need the UN?
When are the Germán people going to pay for the atrocities they committed against humanity during the protracted war that was responsible for the loss of over 50 million lives?

Ndugu Maxiley, please reread the genesis of the Jews from their land of ancestry - Babylon to Palestine, and back to Palestine again.

SOLUTION - SULUHISHO

Since the Palestinians had nothing to do with the HOLOCAUST, don't you think it is time now to teach Germans a lesson for the atrocities they committed against the Jews by partitioning Germany between them and the Jews?

I guess to call someone a terrorist depends on which side you are.The receiving, end or the inflicting end.
Is Al Shabab aterrorist out fit?IN MY OPINION,its no different from Hamas,in their actions. The larger goal of these groups is Pan Islamism.

Had the US not vetoed UN Resolutions 242 & 338, the situation would have been very different from the way it is today.

Had King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella not expelled Jews from Spain in 1492, after they refused to become followers of a religion that is based on the late Son of Mariam, they would still be in Spain.

Had Adolf Hitler not started World War Two where he exterminated over 50 million people including 6 million Jews, the partition of Palestine would not have occurred and therefore, HAMAS would not have existed.
My definition of a "terrorist" is not the same as your current definition. The following is my definition of a terrorist:

1. A person who comes in your land of ancestry uninvited and takes it by force.
2. A person who settles in your land and gives you his/her name, language, religion, and culture by force and teaches you to hate the color of your skin and the texture of your hair.
3. A person who forces you to follow his/her laws which are meant to oppress you physically and psychologically.
Using the above definition, the presence of the British in Kenya during the colonial days qualifies them as "Global Terrorists."

However, when the Kenya Land and Freedom Fighters decided to reclaim their land of ancestry, guess what the illegal British called them? "TERRORISTS!."

@ Ndugu Suluhisho,
UN with its precursor the The League of Nations were create with the hope of solving problems like what we have between Israel, and Gaza, and west Bank. It's painfully clear that USA ,UK,and France have more power than UN.Iagree with you lets do away with UN.
As for peace between Israel, and the Arabs,we just have to hope that both sides will one day produce leaders who can sit on one table and come up with a solution both sides can live with.As much as a two state solution is the best. There are pockets of resistance to this idea on both sides,More so from the Palestinian side. Its the hostilities that get in the way,

This conflict is not about religion but about land. After the creation of islael the government has been stealing more and more Palestinian out of their land and giving it European Jews to settle

Both the left hand and the right hand work together. You cannot separate politics, corruption, lies, insatiable greed, religion, and land. These constructs when they are tolerated and normalized by corrupt leaders, have been responsible for bringing down mighty people, nations, and empires.

Well said @Suluhisho.Leaders of HAMAS have been known to live in luxury in Quatar while palestinians in Gaza are living in deplorable conditions...
If only the leaders could soften their stances for the sake of peace.Positions like kill all the Jews, drive them all into the sea, does not attract peace.Same goes for the Israelis who commit atrocities against the palestinians.
May be the future will breed leaders on both sides who will be willing to work together for common human good. And bring lasting peace.

Family and religion warfare. Isaac vs Ishmael, Jacob v Esau, Israel v Philistines, David vs Goliath. Terror has no place and future. If Israel was defeated the terrorists would come for all non Muslims. Scripture being fulfilled now. Zephaniah 2:4.
