Gunshots Disrupt Peter Kenneth's Meeting in Nairobi

A meeting held by Nairobi Gubernatorial candidate Peter Kenneth was on Wednesday forced to adjourn for over an hour after police officers fired gun shots in the air.

The former Gatanga Member of Parliament was addressing women supporters who had gathered to listen to his promise as he seeks to be the next City governor in the August 8 elections.

The meeting, held at a venue in Kariobangi South in Nairobi, was halted after gun fire rent in the air, causing panic and confusion in the meeting.

Reports indicate that police officers fired the shots to scatter a group of rowdy youth that had gathered next to the Peter Kenneth’s meeting and were reportedly forcefully stealing from the crowd, forcing police officers to fire in a bid to restore order.

The aspirant cut his speech as the gunshots reigned, not knowing what was happening outside the venue, but the meeting resumed once calm restored in the area.

Peter Kenneth has embarked in a fierce grassroots campaign in Nairobi county estate to sell his candidature to the city residents as he looks to dethrone incumbent Governor Evans Kidero from the Nairobi governor seat.

The 2013 Presidential candidate is contesting for the city’s top seat as an independent candidate and is facing an uphill task against ODM candidate Evans Kidero, Jubilee’s Mike Sonko and former Raila Odinga aide Miguna Miguna, also contesting as an independent.

Jubilee followers are sent to disrupt Ndugu P.K. meeting. This behavior and the silence from uhuru and ruto is deplorable.

The same thing happened in Kapsabet when the same Jubilee Alliance thugs did a similar thing to a NASA meeting.

Ndugu P.K. Don't get distracted or discouraged. Senator Lieberman of Connecticut lost to another democratic senatorial candidate during the primaries. He never gave up. He ran as an independent candidate and won.

Long live the City of Nairobi with P. K. as the new governor of the city come August 08, 2017.

Stop dreaming.In Nairobi it will either be Sonko or Kidero just like the next president will either be Raila or Uhuru. Independent candidates are just running to serve their inflated egos for this two posts.Asiye kubali kushindwa siye mshindani.Nairobi and the highest seat in the land is not a battle for independents wacha ndoto.

@YAWA:
