President Uhuru Breaks the Silence on His Alleged Relationship with IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba

President Uhuru Kenyatta has finally broken the silence on alleged close ties with Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ezra Chiloba.

Speaking while meeting western Kenya opinion leaders in Kakamega on Saturday, the President denied knowing Mr Chiloba, adding that he has only met him once.

" Chiloba hata simjui...nimekutana na yeye mara moja (I don't know Chiloba, we have only met once)," he noted.

The opposition has in the past accused Chiloba of being President Uhuru's agent in the commission, and accused him of manipulating August elections to the advantage of Presisent Uhuru. Nasa has demanded for removal of Chiloba from office as one of the conditions for them to take part in the repeat elections

The Head of State further said he does not know any IEBC commissioners on a personal level, yet he was not against any of them and accused his National Super Alliance (NASA) rival Raila Odinga of always linking election officials to his defeat after every election.

" Raila ameshindana na wengine mbele yangu na hawa wote amemalizia kusema aliibiwa kura (Raila has contested against others before me and he always complains of being rigged out')," he stated.

Uhuru condemned Raila's sustained attacks on the electoral commission, and asked whether the opposition leader wants to be the chairman of IEBC.

"Raila, do you want to be President or chairman of the IEBC." he posed.

The President also defended the proposed amendments on election laws, noting that they will cure most of the problems in the nullified August 8th elections.

“The changes will entrench transparency in the electoral process and guarantee free, fair and credible elections,” President Kenyatta said as he told Opposition leader Raila Odinga to stop interfering with the October 26 fresh election in the hope getting powers through the back door."

@Jane, your guy RAO is a looser and will never rule Kenya. How many times has he lost in the elections? He is a cry baby who is not ready to accept defeat.

If I were him after losing so many times I will just quit. The wise men said "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results."

On October 26 he is going loose for for a 5th time, twice this year. It is a known fact. Nobody wants a cry baby to lead them.

The guy is not even campaigning and he expect to win. Sell agenda and not hate and people will vote for you.

He is perennial whiner. He is the kind of guy who cooks ugali and complains that it has uncooked flour while he is eating it. Nobody want such a whiner.

RAP just retire before you are humiliated for the 5th time. This time by an even greater margin. You will never step your foot in the State house.

We know RAO will cry again for foul play after Oct 26. It is not new but Kenya has to go on.

If uhuru is not a friend of Chiloba and IEBC officers , why is jubil\ee opposed to cleaning the house at IEBC.Me thinks that these people have eaten the chicken and they must deliver or else.And jubilee is scared to death of what new officers might find in the current IEBC archives.
