US Names Two Kenyans in the List of Global Terrorists
Two Kenyans believed to be leaders of the Somalia-based terror organization Al Shabaab have been named in the list of United States global terrorists.
The US State Department has listed Ahmad Iman Ali and Abdifatah Abubakar Abdi as “specially designated global terrorists”.
The US says Ali has been coordinating Al Shabaab’s operations in Kenya since 2013 and is responsible for hundreds of killings.
The US says Ali organized the attack on a Kenyan military base in el Adde in January, 2016, which has been considered as the worst military defeat in Kenyan history. More than 150 Kenyan soldiers reportedly died during the raid.
“Ali is also responsible for Al-Shabaab propaganda targeting the Kenyan government and civilians, such as a July 2017 video in which he issues threats to Muslims serving in Kenya’s security forces,” the State Department related.
Ali reportedly served as a cleric for the Nairobi-based Muslim Youth Center, which in 2012 announced its merger with Al-Shabaab. He has been recruiting youth for Al-Shabaab in Nairobi’s slums, the US said.
Abdi is wanted for his connection with the June 2014 attacks in Mpeketoni, Lamu County where over 60 people died.
"Thursday’s designations deny Ali and Abdi access to the US financial system and can assist law-enforcement actions by the US and other governments," the State Department said.

I mara, If indeed electing Duale as secretary of Interior would stop Alshabab attacking Kenya, he would have been in that post longtime ago.
Remember Alshabab claimed that it is attacking Kenya because KDF is helping the AU forces.If we remove KDF from somalia, Alshabab will still continue its evil operations in Kenya.Remember that KDF going to somalia was as a response to threats and attacks from alshabab.Note that
Uganda, sieraleone,and even Ethiopia also have forces in Somalia as well.But they are hardly attacked.Largely because of logistics,i thnk.
Originally Alshabab was fighting the somali government.Then it grew into this terrorist monster.
Imara,it is imporatant to note the reason why Alshabab exist.This is the main reason" waging jihad against "enemies of Islam".In other words war against infidels.
Like I mentioned to you before, Its upto muslims in general and Alshabab in particular to reevalute who the really enemy is. Is it really the Infidels?I dont know where the notion that if you are from another faith,you are an enemy.Some say its it Koran,others say there is a mis-iterpretation.Whatever it is, the solution is with muslims themselves.They have to learn co exist with other religions. And the majority do.So the onerous is on those who do to convince the likes of Alshabab that the enemy is not the Infidel,and muslims have the same problems just like the infedels,and that is corruption, immorality, crime, unemployment...etc.And that it would help everbody if we come together to combat these social evils,instead of attacking each other on the perceived enemy of a religion.Whether infidels or not attacking the innocent should totally be unacceptable.

I have learned that screaming and shouting do not solve any problems.It makes the other party shout louder or tune off.Thus every body losses .Listening,and having a coherent social intercourse in the key to our social issues.Its hard to listed when you are shouting.. right?
