Jubilee MP Warns Kenyans against Electing a 'Hustler' as President

Nyeri Town Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu has warned Kenyans against electing a 'hustler' as President.

In what appeared as a warning against electing Deputy President William Ruto as President in 2022, Wambugu cited Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's failure to live to the expectations of many city residents since assuming office about seven months ago.

"Nairobians decided to elect a ‘hustler’ as Governor of the capital city of Kenya. See your life," Wambugu said in a tweet.

The first time MP, who has openly opposed Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid, said Sonko's case should make Kenyans reconsider their choice for President in the next elections.

"As for those who have been selling the ‘Hustler-for-President’ brand. You will need to reconsider. It’s just been destroyed," the Jubilee MP noted.

Ruto has been selling himself as a 'hustler', a term used locally to refer to a person who is a son of the poor man and who has worked his way to success.

"Those who want to make 2022 a competition between ‘hustlers’ .. and or ‘royals’ aka ‘dynasties’ ..See your life. Uhuru Kenyatta is ‘royal/dynasty’. When you attack ‘royals/dynasty’ you attack Uhuru Kenyatta," wrote Wambugu.

"And as Uhuru said recently, you can’t fight people based on where they were born, coz no one chooses where they are born.
Meanwhile .. don’t fight against rocks when you are standing on one."

How dare you?! The majority of us come from the hustling community and build our way up. Ruto and Sonko are two very different entities, so stop the scare mongering! Sonko is simply hood and a splash of hustler vs down to earth rags to riches Ruto. My vote is always with someone who can step into grassroots reality. Hustler indeed....songa na reli na ushindwe kabisa!. You have just insulted the majority of Kenyans by that little subjective statement!

Implosion of Jubilee is in the early stages. Just too many sharks, self serving individuals at play. We are running short of patriots in the country. Kidero was given 5 years but Sonko has been given 8 months to turn a filthy city like Nairobi around, really? Most of these politicians and/or elites would love to get their hands on cash flow Sonko controls and they will do anything to get him out.Be careful what you wish for.

Mr Wambugu every person is an individual and has one vote. People will vote for those that they believe will further their ambitions and what they believe in. Do not tell anyone whom to vote for or whom not to vote for. Present a candidates from the Dynasties and from the hustler. Let all those candidates with their history, track record and show Kenyans what they can accomplish for the country. Then leave Kenyans to decide whom they want next. We have had dynasties since Independence, may be it's time for a change.

Nginjiri,Kenya is not a monarchy but a republic. Leadership is not based on inheritance here- only through ballot box. You insinuate that hustler community can never bring forth a credible leader, but You're very wrong, here are some examples: Bill Clinton, born after his father's death was raised by a regular mom, a nurse,he went on to become a great US President. Think Obama-and even Ronald Reagan was a struggling movie actor before becoming a governor, then President of US. And the greatest of them all, Abraham Lincoln used to split firewood and taught himself law-the rest is history.what has the royal/dynasty class that you want to shovel down our throats done for common wananchi in all those years? If you stop buying wananchi during election and stop rekindling the fire of tribalism, people are smart enough to elect the best candidate to represent them.

This man is a disgrace to humanity. Who is he to lecture Kenyans on who to vote for and who not to vote for? for heavens sake Sonko has been in office for only 8 months in a capital city where 4 months have been disrupted by political instabilities. He is a first term elect in a county that everything was in a mess. He is a Governor who is being fought with right left and center.
look at Mombasa a city that is nowhere the size of Nairobi governed by a two term Governor. Is it any better? My gov in Meru where we were not affected by election demos has done nothing. In simple no first time gov has settled at all.. This man is stupid.
