National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi Undergoes Surgery in Dubai

National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi is recuperating after undergoing surgery at a hospital in Dubai.

Muturi, who is eyeing the presidency in the 2022 general elections, underwent a minor operation to fix a fracture on his right shoulder. He suffered a fracture last month after he fell off his seat in the office as he tried to pull a drawer.

Muturi received treatment after the incident but the pain persisted and on the advice of doctors, he decided to undergo a surgical procedure.

“Three weeks ago just before the House went on recess, I had a minor accident in the office while trying to pull a drawer and my seat slid off the tempered glass chair-mat where I ended up hurting my right hand shoulder, and the back. I sought medical attention and was released to recuperate at home,” Muturi said through Twitter.

“Unfortunately, the pain persisted and on the advice of the doctors, I have undergone a minor surgery on my right hand shoulder to repair the fracture that I suffered then.”

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo disclosed that Muturi and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria were admitted at the same hospital in Dubai. Last week, Kuria said he was scheduled to undergo a rare stem cell surgery at the American Hospital Dubai, his eighth operation in two months.

Kuria, who sustained serious feet injuries in September, told Capital FM News that he would be among the pioneers in the world to undergo this kind of operation.

The MP suffered three-degree burns in his feet after using an electric therapeutic mat he purchased from Nairobi-based company Ceragem Limited for Sh250,000 to cure numbness in his feet.

Meanwhile at Embu General and other county hospitals, patients have to buy the basic supplies and meds to get services. All so these people like Muturi can afford their medical tourism.

The Government’s elites have the BEST insurance; the lowest rank is allowed to spends minimum of 20 Million Kenyan Shillings per year.

So, why not travel abroad at Tax payers’ expense? These politicians have NO shred of conscience.

A fracture on his right shoulder takes him to Dubai? Does it mean Kenyan Doctors can't do shit? As one of the leaders and eaters, you should have fought for adequate heath care at home. Some of you corrupt goons ought to die out there in those foreign countries where you take our hard earned money for your treatment. Same on you!

They use taxpayers money for these type of procedures and rundown the healthcare system that Wanjiku depends on, only in Kenya that the employer (Taxpayer) cannot get the same type of care as the employee?

Wishing you quick recovery mheshimiwa and I am hoping they have nurses aides in that hospital to help you pull the drawer as you try to retrieve a copy of the Kenya Constitution.

System ya majambazi, Tone deaf and sheer ignorance.
They have no faith nor belief in a healthcare system in Kenya where they serve and legislate.

What a shame and they both (Mutiri & Kuria) purport to represent the common Wanjiku who can even afford NHIF, but they can fly out for minor surgery. Wakenya na nai alituroga?

Sadly, that's the state of the Nation.

I think, if only we could have a mid-term elections of sorts in our country these folks would begin to tread carefully, for fear of loosing their seats.
