Akothee to Set Up a School for Less Fortunate, to Offer Free Education

Kenyan singer and businesswoman Esther Akoth, alias Akothee, has announced plans to set up a school for the less fortunate.

Dubbed Akothee Foundation Academy, the school will sit on a seven-acre parcel of land which the 39-year-old musician donated to the institution last year.

Through a post on Instagram, Akothee said the school will offer free education, food, and clothes to children from poor backgrounds even as she invited donors and well-wishers to join the initiative.

“Imagine a society where children can get free education. At least to read and write. Late last year, I donated 7 acres of land to Akothee Foundation. Akothee Foundation Academy on board. If I speak it, I do it. This is the major dream causing me sleepless nights. Groundbreaking 10th January 2023,” she wrote.

“It will be offering free education to the less fortunate. The pupils will shower in school, dress in school, eat both breakfast and lunch at school. To be part of this course, send us an email. When I am done with this project I can now rest in peace.”

Akothee, a mother of five, also showcased the school’s proposed flag, motto, uniform and outlook. Applications can be forwarded to info@akotheefoundation.org.

It's her money, and its her idea. However, it would have been agood idea to pay school fees for myriad of talented, and bright kids in the existing schools who struggle due to poverty.Non the less, I commend her for putting her resources to help humanity.
