US Delegation Arrives in Kenya, Set to Meet Uhuru, Ruto and Raila

A delegation of leaders from the United States on Wednesday evening arrived in Kenya as part of their five-country tour of Africa.

Led by Delaware Senator Chris Coons, the team was received by US Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

They are expected to hold meetings with outgoing President Kenyatta, President-elect William Ruto and ODM party leader Raila Odinga to deliberate on shared goals between the US and Kenya.

"The delegation is also scheduled to meet with President Kenyatta, William Ruto and Raila Odinga to discuss goals on health, security, and economic prosperity," Whitman said via Twitter.

The US delegation is also expected to have meetings with conservationists, health providers, and organizations working to empower girls in Kenya.

Although the US is yet to congratulate President-elect Ruto on his victory, it lauded the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for conducting the electoral process in a free, fair and transparent manner.

"We applaud the efforts of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, security forces, and all electoral institutions to organize a peaceful and orderly voting and counting process," the US Embassy said in a statement on Monday.

"This is an important milestone in the electoral process. Going forward, we urge all parties to work together to peacefully resolve any remaining concerns about this election through existing dispute resolution mechanisms."

No.Nusu- Mkate this time. We have a duly elected President elect.
Any issues our courts are ready.
USA is in court solving its own election issues.
Let Kenya and Kenyans solve their own issues.
May the God of Kenya reign on this one!!

How comes Joe Biden hasn't congratulated Ruto?
USA and the West at large doesn't care who becomes president as long as their interests are protected.
History has taught us they will work with anyone as long as they are looting the resources Africa has.
Don't they work with dictators?
Don't they support murderers in the guise of 'they don't interfere in government?

Normally after winning, and sworn in, African presidents are know to book a date with the USA president within 2 months. I hope Ruto breaks the "norma".Let them come to you for a change, after all you are the winner, they should come to your house to congratulate you, with gifts.Yeah gifts...like cash.

Returning officers who tampered with elections belong in jail.

They should carry their own cross.
