Ruto Celebrates Nairobi's Top Ranking as a Global City for 2024

President William Ruto expressed his appreciation on Sunday, November 5, for Lonely Planet's recognition of Nairobi as the leading global city destination in 2024.

He stated that this award reflects Kenya's successful efforts to position itself as a competitive destination with a wide range of attractions and opportunities. The president emphasized that Kenya has provided compelling reasons for people from all walks of life to visit the country, including investors, innovators, creators, professionals, and travellers of all ages. Lonely Planet praised Nairobi for its unique blend of global cosmopolitan trends and traditional cultural influences, as well as its vibrant and evolving youthful energy.

The travel guide highlights the city's proximity to wildlife parks, cultural heritage sites, and lively nightlife. According to Lonely Planet, Nairobi is the top city to visit in 2024, followed by Paris, Montreal, Mostar, and Philadelphia. Additionally, Lonely Planet ranks Mongolia as the best country to visit in 2024, with India and Morocco closely trails in the top five rankings. President Ruto says that Nairobi serves as the vibrant and essential core of Kenya, a place where individuals envision grand aspirations and cultivate a superior present and future.

He believes that the city is captivating, offering abundant prospects for anyone seeking to explore, experiment, or embark on new endeavours. Furthermore, he notes that this accolade indirectly validates Magical Kenya as an irresistible destination for those intrigued by a stunning nation on the rise, inhabited by people who consistently go above and beyond to engage and surpass the expectations of all visitors, clients, customers, and partners.

“We shall neither tire nor relent in performing this important duty of marketing and promoting Magical Kenya and Nairobi, our wondrously complex, infinitely charismatic, profoundly fascinating capital abounding with opportunities for everyone thinking of learning, trying or starting something,” said Ruto.

Vibrant nightlife guess they have not heard about the “mchele gang”also as long as these visitors stick to certain parts of the city .Avoid Nairobi river , kibera and mathare slums generally all of east lands and concentrate in and around CBD.
Nice to be ranked number one even if the study is by a questionable organization who just wants to rent out its recently built apartments as Airbnb to gullible tourists fascinated they can see wildlife in the capital city
