Kenya Railways Apologizes after SGR Train Stalls for One Hour in Kibwezi

Passengers boarding a Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) train on Wednesday experienced a one-hour delay after the train stalled at Kibwezi terminus. Kenya Railways in a statement said that the train, headed to Nairobi from Mombasa, developed a technical hitch.
Terming the mishap as an 'unscheduled stop', the Railways company apologized to the commuters assuring that the situation was rectified.
“Passengers aboard E1 train from Mombasa to Nairobi today experienced unscheduled 1 hour stop at Kibwezi during the journey,” reads a tweet from the firm. “We apologize for the inconvenience caused.”
The multi-billion-shilling Standard Gauge Railway project was launched by President Uhuru Kenyatta in May.
