State House Operative Wants Raila Arrested for Contempt

A State House operative has called for the arrest of National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga over alleged contempt of Court.

Eric Ngeno, State House Director of Messaging in a statement saud that the former Prime Minister has showed contempt of court by his recent onslaught against the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Ng'eno said that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader was in direct contempt of the court which on September 1st ordered the Electoral Commission to hold fresh polls within 60 days.

“The Supreme Court, beyond nullifying the results of the presidential election of 8th August 2017, also ordered the IEBC to conduct a fresh presidential election within 60 days,".

"For a while now, Raila Odinga has led NASA senior officials in an absurd onslaught on the IEBC,” read the statement.

He added: “Apart from a delusional raft of petulant “irreducible minimums”, Odinga has indicated a strategy based on two bizarre assumptions. The first is that he must be on the ballot for a valid election to take place. The second is that there will be a constitutional crisis if no election is held as ordered. Both assumptions are deliriously nonsensical at best.”

Thus, he should be punished because “recent behaviour and utterances by Odinga indicate that not only are NASA uninterested in any election, they are taking active measures to obstruct IEBC from holding the elections.”

“Disobedience of court orders is a crime that strikes at the heart of the authority of judicial institutions and undermines the rule of law.
A party who takes such trouble and invests time, effort and resources to undermine court orders that he painstakingly procured resides in the domain of singular deviants.
This instance of contempt of court is outstanding in its cynicism and nihilistic callousness. It must not go unremarked. It must not go unpunished,” concluded the statement.

The Nasa flag bearer has maintained that there will be no elections unless IEBC meets his demands.

Among the demands the opposition outfit has tabled before the electoral commission is removal of 12 IEBC officials from office, blacklisting of Dubai-based ballot printing firm Al Ghurair and removal of French Biometrics firm, OT-Morpho who provided IT services in the August 8th polls.

Kenya is slowly sliding back to the sad days of intolerance under the leadership of Kenyatta and Toroitich. Let us heed the words of the former Bishop of the Anglican church in South Africa Brother Desmond Tutu who once said, " If you are silent in situations of injustices, you have taken the side of the oppressor.

I ask all my fellow patriotic Kenyans to be vigilant and make sure (non-violently) that our nation does not slide back to those dreadful days!

This man David Ngeno does NOT understand the Meaning of "Contempt of Court." But if he thinks he knows: Then his boss Uhuru should be the 1st to be PROSECUTED for Insulting CJ Maraga and the Judiciary (that Nullified the 8/8/17 Election).

Guest 1, Contempt of court is when does not carry out Court orders and I see Raila following down that path. Only remedy is go to the election and then complain and bargain yet again with illegality and irregularity. David Ngeni is right on point. Raila should be under House rest to the protect and prevent Violence. Not sure why he is getting airtime..

Now we have someone dealing perpendicularly with the Kenyan dotard RAO. I tell you, someone needs to consult with Mzee Toroitich on a regular basis because this is getting out of hand. Noone is bigger than the country.

Why can he file a case in court if he has evidence instead of demanding an arrest? That is not how the judicial system works Eric; get educated.

Reminds me one of the chicken-crossing-the-road jokes that says " I dream of a world where chickens can cross the roads without their motives questioned" or I would add " and their feathers ruffled"
