Jubilee Isn't Divided, President Kenyatta's Word is Final, DP William Ruto Says

Deputy President William Ruto has dismissed claims of the existence of two factions in Jubilee Party. Speaking in Nakuru County on Sunday, Ruto categorically stated that the ruling party functions as one and whatever President Kenyatta says on behalf the party and is final.

“Those claiming there are camps in Jubilee are day-dreamers," he said, when addressed leaders at the home of Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri.

“We have to work together. Even those who were in opposition are joining our efforts to bring the country together to help address the needs of the people."

While speaking at PCEA Tabuga earlier in the day, the Ruto urged leaders to embrace politics of uplifting Kenyans' lives. " It is time leaders realised Kenya is greater than the political class," he said. “Millions of Kenyans want universal healthcare, decent housing, high quality education and proper infrastructure.”

Ruto dismissed calls to change the Constitution to reintroduce the position of the Prime Minister, sentiments that were echoed by area leaders.

“We have just started working for the people who elected us. We want more development and less politics,” Nakuru senator Susan Kihika said.

Ruto was flanked by more than 10 Jubilee MPs from Nakuru and other regions. The leaders assured Ruto of their support for his 2022 presidential bid.
