Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga says he will next week name companies whose products and services Kenyans should boycott over their role in perpetuating electoral injustice.
Odinga, who spoke in Migori on Friday at the start of the planned countrywide mass action, said some of the companies are aligned with President Ruto’s administration and have been used to suppress the opposition.
“Our headquarters will next week issue directions on what products and services are to be boycotted. Some of these companies are being used badly by the government,” said Odinga.
Odinga stated that Kenyans have the opportunity to exercise their sovereignty directly as enshrined in the constitution after the Kenya Kwanza administration failed to respond to their demands.
“We had demanded three things that we wanted addressed within two weeks. They included bringing down the cost of living after withdrawal of the subsidies programme, electoral justice and the involvement of all stakeholders in the reconstitution of IEBC. These demands have not been responded to,” he added.
Insisting that his quest to liberate the nation is unstoppable, Odinga said the countrywide mass action will culminate in a mega demonstration in Nairobi on March 20th.
The ODM party leader urged Kenyans to support the planned mass action that will be spearheaded by the recently constituted Movement for Defense of Democracy (MDD).
The Migori rally came two days after the expiry of the 14-day ultimatum issued by the opposition coalition containing a raft of demands to the government.
Odinga was accompanied by several Azimio leaders among them Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
Jaluo msumbufu sana. Economic sabotage is a crime he must pay for. Moi didn't put you in jail for no reason old man. Now Lord of poverty wants to drive millions into more poverty on pursuit of handshake for himself. Loser
Rao is chaotic masterminds lunatic, He got nothing to loose ....that's why the government has reached out to Global partners since the Government knows his Mass action exit plans...
You are correct. We should reinstate detention without trial. This guy belongs in Kamiti. He is pushing and encouraging mass action and disobedience. It's a crime!
Raila is basically trying to blackmail these companies and hold Kenya hostage.
I recall Jomo kenyatta saying, " IT'S BETTER FOR ONE INDIVIDUAL TO DIE THAN MASSES". Jomo was right.
Raila has been lying to his followers that he was the genesis of the multi party democracy in Kenya. He is the illegitimate crusader. The real callers for multi party are Jaramogi Oginga, George Nthenge, Masinde Muliro, Philip Gachoka, Bamahariz and Ndamwe. Raila has not and is not fighting for anyone’s democracy but his own self aggrandizement. He has been part of Uhurus government for the last four years when the many people were still dying from starvation, prices for commodities we’re still high, taxes were still the same, Chebukati was still the chairman, when Uhuru appointed the 4 Cherera commissioners, when Uhuru was purging Ruto sympathizers ….and list is long. In all these, Riala was so Silent. Silent because he was busy eating or stealing. Today if President WSR gave him a nusu something that would be the last time you would hear the complaints. Raila is all about himself.
