Former NTV news anchor Larry Madowo is reportedly headed to British national broadcaster BBC, where he will be in charge of business news coverage in Africa.
This comes days after his resignation from Nation Media Group, where he worked for close to a decade.
Madowo will allegedly have his office at the new BBC studios located in Riverside, Nairobi. The British giant media firm has recently poached other top journalists from KTN and NTV sports desks, in a bid to boost its presence in Kenya.
The BBC Africa Business Editor position had recently been advertised.
In a statement on his Twitter handle last week, the former "The Trend" show host announced his time at NTV had come to an end.
"I leave @ntvkenya as I came: humbled & grateful. The job was one of the great honours of my life. Thanks to everyone who watched, and to Nation for the privilege of the opportunity."
"I’m proud of my amazing colleagues & everything we accomplished. Farewell, my friends. Stay woke," he added.

Congratulations Midiwo for landing a good job.A Jaluo told me this morning-You know Okuyu, all Jalous are now represented in BBC a company from UK(UNITED KISUMU).But Anonymous should know that it is not easy to be muuaji Raila's successor. That is why there are two individuals fighting for the "SEAT".One-Orengo using brains and even misleading the other.Then-Miguna who seem to be applying mucus and poop instead of brains. But wacha nikwambie wafuasi and worshipers of Raila would prefer Miguna to Orengo because most of them are violent like muchawi Raila.
@Rumbwa, is that all you woke up this day to write? Please read what you wrote and ask yourself if you are proud of writing it. Nothing there makes sense. A 5 th grader may do well!
