US-Based Kenyan Author Prof. Ngugi wa Thiong’o Hails Huduma Namba as He Registers in Los Angeles

Renowned US-based Kenyan author Prof. Ngugi wa Thiong’o has registered for Huduma Namba.
The scholar was listed on the National Integrated Identity Management System (NIIMS) alongside his wife Njeri wa Ngugi at the Kenyan consulate in Los Angeles.
Speaking after he was registered, Ngugi hailed the Huduma Namba idea, pointing out that the system will provide a foundation on which Kenya's transformation would be anchored.
He urged Kenyans living and working abroad to register ahead of June 20th deadline.
The registration drive for Kenyans in the diaspora is currently ongoing in 54 Kenyan missions abroad.
Kenya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the government deployed 154 electronic registration kits to foreign missions to facilitate the exercise.
More than 30 million Kenyans in the country were enlisted during the mass registration that ended on May 25th.
