Senator Sakaja Asked to Provide Graduation Photos, Several Documents to Proof He Attended Team University

The Commission for University Education (CUE) has asked Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja to provide several documents to prove that he attended and graduated from Team University in Uganda.

This comes after the commission revoked the recognition of his Bachelor of Science in Management degree from the Kampala-based university pending investigations into its authenticity following concerns raised by members of the public.

“…On diverse dates, the commission received complaints from members of the public and civil society casting doubt on the authenticity of the degree certificate submitted to CUE by Hon. Sakaja. The gravity of the matter raised made the commission revoke its decision to recognize the degree qualification,” CUE Chairperson Prof. Chacha Nyaigotti said on Friday.

Sakaja, who is eyeing the Nairobi governor’s seat on a UDA party ticket, is required to provide his application for the course, letter of admission from the University, evidence of registration including Student ID, Credit Accumulation and Transfer System (ATS), course description for the Bachelor of Science in Management (External), course units taken, transcripts, examinations schedules, a graduation booklet that has his name on it.

CUE also wants Sakaja to provide receipts for: application fee, tuition fees, graduation and convocation, names of lecturers that taught him some of the courses, any communication with the university staff (academic and administrative) regarding his course in the university, graduation photo while wearing the gown, and evidence of the requisite credit hours covered.

The senator has also been invited to attend a meeting on Monday to provide further information that can aid in the investigations. Further to this, CUE has written to Team University seeking further information regarding the matter.

“The problem of fraudulent degree certificates has become endemic and bears a huge reputational risk to the University academic programmes. We shall work tirelessly to guard against this threat to our education system and as a Commission we will blacklist any university which colludes on the issuance of fraudulent degrees,” Chacha added.

CUE is so retard. Graduation pictures isn't proof of completion. I've missed a few graduations but have completion documents

The following people should release their academic papers to the media for all to see. Ruto, Sakaja, Sudi and Bishop Margaret Wanjiru wa Kamangū.

How did you forget Raila, Joho Ndeti? We have been asking for Raila’s academic credentials to be published for the public view.
Tito for a matter of good record was In UoN for his degree then a masters followed by PhD. You can google his graduation just to vent off much scrutiny. What if Baba? It’s said that Baba has his degree of 60s/ 70s printed on an institution formed in 1993. Is that not enough disparity for questioning?

NDUGU Wafula Chebukati should ask for academic transcripts directly from the colleges where all potential political candidates attended.

With all corruption and conmen master forgers insiders, I am not surprised, for a few millions, the vice chancellor and registrar cronies will quickly ‘prepare’ such documents and present them as authentic. May be that’s why they are asking for more evidence than just transcripts and degree certificate.

What a very easy assignment to help Sakaja produce everything necessary so he can get back to campaigning… The ball is now in Sakaja’s court to shine. Hopefully!

If anything CUE is being very generous asking him to provide an array of evidence to prove he actually attended university example name of lecturers or tuition fees unfortunately it is a mute effort on their part the man never graduated and team university exists only on paper .You just handed jubilee or is it azimio their first victory with your dishonesty maybe Polycarp will stop washing public toilets and Kazi ya mikono like carwash ati utumishi kwa wote in an effort to get votes

CUE is an absolute disgraceful absurd organization to say the least! It’s playing politics controlled by its masters! All those demands of documents are nonsensical! What about just calling the university for verification?

That’s how verifications are done by directly engaging with the academic instructions, former employers, etc!

Nonsense

Why is Sakaja so desperate to a point of allowing Denis Itumbi to speak for him by posting his fake degree on line?

These are the types of people that will burry Sakaja alive for spinning more lies. Sakaja never acquired the said degree through formal academic channels.

Someone at Team University did the dirty work for Sakaja after getting bribed with a lot WSR’s stolen money. Uganda is more corrupt than kenya that’s the reason why very body is silent in Team University.

CUE has already completed their investigations and made a decision. The case is in court, it's now up to CUE to explain who, when, where and how they arrived at their decision. If there're no minutes of the CUE minutes of that meeting, voters will assume there is effort to interfere with the elections, and will loose confidence.

Sakaja does not have anything to provide on Monday. He knows he is lying but he wants to keep running around like roped goat.

Lies are always very easy to cook and stand by them is a story for another day. Sakaja had a lot of time to attend university classes in the past 10 years but he did not because he corruptly believed he could manipulate the system.

He did not plan his political career well and so he is solely to blame for his misfortunate no matter how much he wants to drag Uhuru in his debacle.

Now this degree requirement has entered into the realm of absurdity. With so many candidates having questionable degrees, we are now left to wonder if that requirement should be scrapped of the list...The relevant bodies are cowering and seem unwilling or incapable of authenticating the credentials of some candidates.
What is going on at IEBC is to say the least unconscionable, and embarrassing .Today a candidate is banned from contesting, tomorrow the ban is lifted and same candidate is allowed to contest without the barring reason being resolved.
If you are having so much trouble enforcing your own policies, why have them? And if you are cowering to the powers that be, then you are not fit to be in office. You talk of integrity when IEBC does not seem to have the power wherewith to stop these unqualified candidates from running for public office.Shameful.
IEBC is running around in confusion ,and we barely have two months to go till election day.I would suggest that we scrap it off and build another agency, buy due to time constraint ,I guess we shall just have to make use the best of this handicapped agency.
