Nairobi Woman Rep Rachael Shebesh Accepts Defeat, Congratulates Passaris

Incumbent Nairobi Woman Representative Racheal Shebesh has accepted defeat to Esther Muthoni Passaris of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

In a concession speech on Wednesday, Shebesh said she will continue serving Nairobi residents and the country in other capacities despite losing to Passaris.

"I thank the people of Nairobi for the time I served them as woman representative. I congratulate my competitor Esther for winning the seat." She said in a press briefing in Nairobi on Wednesday.

Shebesh was contesting for the seat on a Jubilee Party ticket and has urged Passaris to complete the projects she initiated in the last five years.

"It is not easy and it was a rare move for Esther and I to have campaigned peacefully," Shebesh added.

Passaris marshaled 829,473 votes against Shebesh's 672,613 in 3,228 out of 3,378 polling stations.

"I call on everyone to accept their positions so that we do not deny Kenyans peace," she said.

She also opposition candidate Raila Odinga to accept defeat and help rebuild the nation. She congratulated President Uhuru, Sonko and Sakaja following their victories.

"To the NASA principals, it is hard for anyone to concede defeat but Kenya is more important than all of us. I plead with you all to accept the verdict of the people," she added.

Esther you got in because of your looks but I guess a change is as good as a rest at least Shebesh is out and Jubilee did not clinch all the seats in Nairobi as they had hoped
