'Chemo Drugs are Brutal', Ailing Kibra MP Ken Okoth Says as He Shares His Latest Photo

Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth has given an update on his battle with Colorectal Cancer.
Taking to social media on Tuesday, the 41-year-old MP has shared a photo showing the dire effects of cancer drugs and chemotherapy.
He says the cancer drugs and chemotherapy have completely changed his appearance.
“Napambana na hali yangu kabisa. (I’m fighting with it). Chemo drugs are brutal on the skin and immunity system.” he captions the photo in a tweet.
Okoth was responding to a Twitter user @WambuiBMW who sought to know how he is fairing.
"Hallo Mheshimiwa @okothkenneth How are you fairing? You crossed my mind today. Am praying for your quick recovery," Wambui tweeted.
Kenyans online have rallied behind the ODM MP, wishing him well.
Kamukunji MP Yusuf Hassan tells Okoth: “Dearest Ken, Our thoughts are with you as you battle with this disease. The whole of Kenya is behind you and sends you strength. You’re a fighter and I’ve no doubt that you will defeat it and emerge the victor. Be strong and courageous.”
Colorectal cancer develops from both the colon as well as rectum.
Okoth opened up about his battle with stage four cancer, which has no cure, early this year.
“The fear of the unknown that accompanies a cancer diagnosis is immense. Cancer changes your life completely,” Ken said during an interview with the Standard
Since his diagnosis, Okoth has been pushing for the improvements in cancer treatment in Kenya.
He says he was forced to seek treatment in Europe since Kenya lacks facilities that care for cancer at such an advanced stage.
