Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi and his predecessor Peter Munya have agreed to bury the hatched and jointly drum up support for President Uhuru Kenyatta' reelection in the fresh poll ordered by the Supreme Court.

In a meeting called by President Uhuru at State House in Nairobi, the two leaders, on Wednesday pledged go back to Meru with a message of unity and hold joint presidential campaigns.

President Kenyatta expressed gratitude to the two leaders and urged them to preach the message of unity to their supporters and residents of Meru County.

The Head of State said their decision to team up will fulfill one of Jubilee Party's agenda of uniting and bringing Kenyans together.

Party of National Unity (PNU) leader Peter Munya had said he would campaign for opposition leader Raila Odinga before he made a U-turn and threw his weight behind President Kenyatta’s re-election.

Munya had accused Jubilee operatives of conniving with IEBC to rig him in favor of his Meru Governor race rival Kiraitu Murungi.

Its not yet clear if Munya will withdraw a petition he filed at the high court seeking nullification of Kiraitu's victory.
