MP Babu Owino Says He Has Paid DJ Evolve’s Sh15 Million Hospital Bill
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino says he has fully settled the medical bill incurred by Felix Orinda, alias DJ Evolve, at Nairobi Hospital.
Orinda was admitted to the hospital on January 17th, 2020 after he was allegedly shot on the neck by MP Owino at B-Club located in the Kilimani area of Nairobi.
Speaking in an interview with Milele FM’s Jalang’o on Thursday, April 30th, Owino indicated that Orinda was discharged from the ICU but he is yet to go home due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
He noted that he fully paid Orinda’s hospital bill amounting to Sh15 million. Owino added that his friendship with the disk jockey was not affected by the shooting incident.
“The thing that happened is between me and God and I chose to forgive myself. I have been paying the bills and I settled them, Sh15 million. DJ Evolve is waiting to go home as he was discharged from the Intensive Care Unit to the wards. He cannot go home yet due to the Coronavirus pandemic,” said Owino.
He added: “DJ Evolve is a personal friend and no one can come in between us. Everybody has their own challenges and no woman nor man should judge me. I will not take it lightly.”
Owino was arrested and arraigned in court following the shooting incident that left Orinda fighting for his life.
He pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted murder and disorderly behavior while carrying a firearm and was freed on a cash bail of Sh5 million.
