A 27-year-old IT expert from Kenya, Nelson Kimathi Munene, tragically lost his life in Denver, Colorado, on July 21st.
Munene was fatally shot under circumstances that have left his family and friends grappling with profound grief and disbelief. According to reports from the Denver Police Department, the incident occurred when Munene allegedly entered an apartment near the University of Denver. The resident, startled by the unexpected intrusion, fired multiple shots, resulting in Munene's immediate death at the scene. The authorities are continuing their investigation into the shooting, with the resident cooperating fully.
Munene's family, hailing from Meru County in Kenya, have described him as an obedient, fun-loving, and kind individual with a passion for the outdoors, travel, and spending time with loved ones. His move to the United States was driven by a desire to advance his career in the IT sector, a field in which he had already garnered respect from peers and colleagues. In the wake of this tragedy, Munene's family faces the daunting task of repatriating his body to Kenya for burial.
They have initiated a GoFundMe campaign with the goal of raising $30,000 (approximately Sh 3.7 million) to cover the associated costs. As of the latest update, the campaign has raised $4,195 (about Sh 500,000), leaving a significant shortfall of Sh 3.3 million. The family's plea for financial assistance has resonated deeply within the Kenyan community overseas. Many have already contributed to the cause, and the campaign organizers have expressed their gratitude for the support received thus far.
They remain hopeful that they will reach their fundraising goal soon, enabling them to bring Munene home for a dignified farewell among his loved ones.
This tragic event has also sparked important discussions about the safety and well-being of Kenyans living abroad. Many Kenyans relocate to countries like the United States in pursuit of better opportunities, but often face numerous challenges, including cultural differences, legal issues, and safety concerns. The Kenyan diaspora community has been urged to remain vigilant and supportive of one another during such difficult times.
The family is working closely with local authorities and legal representatives to resolve the situation. Munene's body currently rests at Pipkin Braswell Funeral Home and Cremation in Denver, awaiting repatriation. The family has also called upon the Kenyan government and relevant authorities to assist in expediting the repatriation process.

Three extremely deadly and irrational documents written by men:
1. Quran: This document believed by the followers of the founder of this religion: the late son of Amina Bint Wahb - the mother and Abdullah Ibn Abd al-Muttalib - the father.
2. The Bible: This book contains the Old Testament and the New Testament. Majority of the Jewish people adhere to the teachings contained in the Old Testament, while Non-Jews believe in the teaching of the New Testament, a religion that focuses the teachings of the late son of Joseph and Miriam.
3. The US Constitution: A document compiled by European American men without the Indigenous people or people of the COHO (continent of human origins) descent participating in the writing of the document. In this document, it is written that "all men were created equal." Had it been written all people were created equal, there would not have existed slavery and the taking of the indigenous peoples' land. The Second Amendment focuses on the " citizens right to bear arms." At the moment, there are only 3 countries in the world that allow their citizen the right to bear arms: Guatemala, Mexico, and the USA. We have witnessed the negative effect of this argument when massive shooting have occurred and many innocent people killed senselessly. The gentlemen who wrote the document had no knowledge of the basic functioning of the "brain." They had no knowledge about the limbic system and the amygdala. When a human being is provoked, the amygdala responds immediately. Thew purpose of the amygdala is to respond to any external threatening stimuli - fight or flight. Until ones amygdala is surgically removed, there will always be senseless loss of lives especially now when AK 47 and AR 15 is in the hands of any Tom, Harry, and Dick. It is time the Congress get rid of this provision in the US Constitution.
@Firm Forever, People are Dying in KENYA by the Barrel of the Gun (yet Most People in KENYA Don't have the Right to Bear arms).
Here we go again with that Amygdala.....bullshit!!!!
I feel sorry for your ignorance of simple biological facts about your lack of knowledge about the physiology and the anatomy of the human brain.
I have again provoked your amygdala again. How do I know that?
As soon as a person starts using inappropriate language to communicate, that is the first first sign that they have temporarily lost their logic and critical thinking skills and their amygdala has been activated.
Imara Daima, correction on no.2 There's nothing like late Son of Joseph and Miriam coz He rose from the dead, Respect other faiths please, Christians don't attack Islam the violent religion established by a paedofile who raped Aisha when She was around 7 to 9 years, infact He should be sentenced in absentia but We don't pursue that. How can a sane person take a little girl to the shower n brandish a lollipop?
The first thing that devil will show you when you hit hell head first is Psalm 14. I praise Jesus
"...a religion whose basic philosophy is based on the late son of Joseph and Miriam."
"The purpose of the amygdala is to ..."
"...now when AK 47 and AR 15 weapons of mass destruction are in the hands of any Tom, Dick, and Harry."
Sad for the young man and his family. Immigrants should be aware that certain states have what is referred to as the castle doctrine and intruders can be shot upon entry. I am curious because his obit doesn't mention anything about relocation of the body but rather the cost of the funeral and related expenses. Moreover it appears his dad lives in the US. https://www.pipkinbraswell.com/obituaries/nelson-kimathi
