Kenyans React to Babu Owino's Unthinkable Insult on President Uhuru

Kenyans have taken to social media to criticize Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino over his filthy remarks on Sunday that appeared to be directed at President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking while on a campaign trail with National Super Alliance (NASA) Leaders the newly elected MP insulted the President using unthinkable words.

"If Muammar Gaddafi (Libya) was removed by citizens if Laurent Gbagbo (Ivory Coast) were removed by citizens if Yahya Jammeh (Gambia) was removed by citizens, who are you? Wewe ni mtoto wa mbwa (you are the son of a dog)," Babu thundered.

The Embakasi East Mp also hit back at the Deputy President William Ruto whom he said had sought to know the meaning of the word "tibim", frequently used by Nasa leaders.

"Ruto asked the meaning of tibim. Tibim means that they should be removed from State House."

"And I ask our elders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo that immediately they leave State House, throw them in Kamiti Prison because they have stolen from Kenyans," Babu stated.

On Monday, Babu, in a post on Facebook denied insulting the Head of State and maintained he would not apologize.

“I will not apologize to anyone because I called nobody’s name during my yesterday’s address. We have so many presidents in Kenya, from the President of Sonu to all presidents of students union in Kenya, President of the Supreme Court, President of Youth senate and many more,"

“However I will stick to objective politics and will never abuse anybody. Let my brothers and sisters from the kikuyu nation know that I did not abuse their president. One kenya one nation… God bless Kenya,” he wrote.

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, in a Facebook post, called on the Director of Criminal Investigation Ndegwa Muhoro, Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett, and Director of Public Prosecution Keriako Tobiko to act immediately.

“I still hold you in high regard. The cell number 4 at Pangani (police station) which has hosted me frequently is waiting for Babu Owino. I trust this will be done today (Monday) to save me unnecessary time, effort and resources tomorrow,” Kuria said.

Here are some reactions by Kenyans on social media:

"Babu is still a tampering baby, he need some one to guide thru politics, but non in the team of NASA is willing to help him," one said.

Abdinego Purity said: "Who does he think he is? yeye ndiye mtoto was ubwa! wewe kijana mdogo sana but you have a rotten mouth."

Jey White notes: "Uhuru hata wewe umenyamaza sana why should this goons abuse you bana aaai, this is too much."

Eunice Muita writes: "Nyinyi watu wa embakasi east huyu babu doesn't deserve to b called a mheshimiwa.how dare he call president Uhuru "mtoto wa mbwa?" Babu u deserve to rot in kamiti.may the wrath of God be upon u &UA generations."

Wangugi Stephanie said: "This is too much insult and it is unacceptable.very disrespectful talk that benefits no-one. I think babu is going too far.He needs to be tamed."

Joachim Ngugi says:  He should be castrated. The presidency is not SONU. Uhuru should stretch his muscles as the Commander In Chief Of the Defence Forces."

The right to insult is what Raila seems to have fought for. No other people have insulted President Uhuru as these lakeside people. But what do we expect when the oldest man in their pack acts like a boy himself? There is no one to counsel another in this camp. God help Kenya kick out this types.

@Sukari, see what Uhuru set in motion in our nation when he called the four members of the judiciary " wakora," Insults have now become part of our mode of communication.
This is indeed unfortunate. I
personally stopped using any inappropriate lexical item in order to make my point.

Both Uhuru and Babu should be arrested for using inappropriate language in public.

Democracy does not mean disrespecting the Presidency. This rand(Kihii) should be jailed for disrespecting the President of Kenya. This is only a tip of how this rands(Ihii) would turn our country into if given a chance to rule. Kuria is right, Kihii Babu Owino should be in jail right now. Kenya will never be ruled by a rand(Kihii). Rands(Ihii) that want to become a president can move back to their ancestral home South Sudan where they stand a big chance of been elected one

Silence is golden. Insults to others is inexcusable. Insult to the Presidency must carry punishment. Babu Owino should be rotting in jail especially because he is advocating removal of the presidency not by vote but by violence.

He belongs in Jail. This is becoming too much much. Disrespecting the president i sun called for. The old geriatric Raila has not denounced this Young stupid idiot. He should be held to the same standard.
