President Ruto Leaves for a Four-Day Visit to Germany and Belgium

President Ruto is scheduled to leave the country on Sunday for a four-day visit to the Federal Republic of Germany and the Kingdom of Belgium.

The president’s trip to the two nations is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and exploring partnerships on renewable energy, green industrialization and trade, according to a press release by State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed.

Ruto will meet with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin, where he will also deliver a keynote address at the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue.

In his address, the president will outline the challenges of energy security amidst the worsening climate crisis and the push for investments in renewable energy, in Kenya and Africa.

Kenya will also seek cooperation with Germany on the youth agenda, particularly in vocational education and training.

From Berlin, Ruto will fly to Brussels where he will meet with Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo and discuss mutual areas of interest including health, food security, drought response, climate action, trade and investment.

He will also engage with the leadership of the European Union, including Charles Michel, President of the European Council and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.

“His meeting will reinforce Kenya’s commitment to the Kenya – EU Strategic Dialogue, to deepen the partnership between Kenya and the European Union, under the three key pillars of Peace, Security and Stability; Sustainable and Inclusive Development; and, Economy, Trade and Investment,” Mohamed said.

Ruto is smart.
Any violence and deaths that will occur on Monday won't be on his feet. He will put that yolk on Gachagua.... just watch and see what happens with the demos on Monday.

Can the president really afford to leave the country at this time when the cancer that is Odinga is hell bent on bringing him and the country down? Seriously?

How much does Ruto know about renewable energy? And what makes him think that what works in Germany would work in Kenya? This kind of problems I would hope that could be solved by our own THINK TANKS. The bigger question is,while Germany was becoming energy sufficient, what were we doing? I guess sleeping and we just woke up without lights on...
Germany and Belgium are not going to part with their knowledge amassed from many years of hardwork, for FREE.Bilateral partnership? So what is Germany getting in this' partnership'.Tell us before we cast our votes...
