President Kenyatta Issues Freezing Directive on New Gov't Projects until Ongoing Ones Are Completed

President Kenyatta has issued an order stopping the launch of new government projects until the ongoing ones are completed.
The President said all accounting officers will be held personally accountable for any new projects sanctioned in their departments without authority from the National Treasury.
The Head of State noted that the freezing directive will stop wastage of taxpayers cash and the habit of abandoning projects half way and launching new ones.
“There will be no new projects that will be embarked on until you complete those that are ongoing,” said the President.
Kenyatta spoke during a meeting with all government accounting officers among them, Principal Secretaries, Parastatal Heads, University Vice Chancellors and Chairmen of State Corporations at KICC in Nairobi on Friday.
“Even if new projects are aligned to the Big Four they cannot be started without express authority from CS or PS of the National Treasury,” said President Kenyatta.
At the same time, the President said the government will be launching a new portal where all tenders will be publicised.
“All procurement officers have been taken through the operations of the portal and they have given their feedback. The portal will be launched soon,” the Head of State said.

If the dictionary had an illustration of a clueless president it would be the one above. There is no money for big four PR gimmick. Just like the twelve world class stadiums. Time to kick the wonder boy to the curb

This is a good move. Kenya does not need new projects. What Kenya needs is to manage what it already has, stop corruption and pay off existing debt to help Kenyans regain self dignity. Upgrade what we already have. Invest in our human resources so New projects can be done by Kenyans. New unmanageable projects will destroy the country. God help Kenya!!!
