Us-based Kenyan Athlete Drowns While Saving Employer's Dog

Josephat Kibet Ngetich, a former Kenyan track runner, tragically lost his life in Mexico last week.
Kibet, a former Athlete from Bomet County, drowned while attempting to rescue his employer's dog from a pool. He had retired from his athletic pursuits in 2006 due to a leg injury. Kibet's determination to save the dog puzzles and deeply saddens his family. Having spent 17 years in the United States before moving to Mexico for employment following his career-ending setback, Kibet's sudden act of bravery has left his loved ones devastated and questioning his motives.
In Kenya, his family cherishes his trophies and medals. For 16 years, a Toyota sedan with mechanical troubles has sat motionless in the garage, the sole remnants of his triumphant journey in athletics. His wife discloses that he would frequently reach out to the family, assuring them of his impending homecoming through video calls. She laments that the only detail they possess is that he tragically fell into a dam while attempting to save a dog that had plunged into the water.
The grieving widow says that Kibet's body has since been moved to the morgue for a comprehensive post-mortem examination. Josephat Kibet achieved nationwide recognition for his amazing talents in long-distance running. His proficiency ranged from 10 to 21-kilometer contests to accomplishing remarkable performances in the arduous 3,000-meter steeplechase competition.
According to World Athletics, Kibet's exceptional abilities were most prominently showcased in competitions across South America, with a special focus on events held in Mexico.

Afew questions come to mind. Was he alone. Has this happened before-dog in the pool. Was the dog sick,-couldnt swim. Did he feel that it was his fault the dog was in the pool, and did not want the boss yelling at him?How big is the pool...?Couldn't he draw attention-Alarm. Of course these question will not help. The horse is already out of the ban.But I hope it could provide some kind of "teachable moment,"however sad.
