Six-Month-Old Baby Among 25 New Covid-19 Patients in Kenya
A six-month-old baby is among 25 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed in Kenya on Monday, May 4th.
The 25 cases were detected from 1,112 samples examined in the last 24 hours and raise the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 490.
All the 25 new patients are Kenyans nationals and none of them has a recent history of travel abroad, Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Dr. Mercy Mwangangi said when addressing the press on Monday.
In terms of gender, 12 patients are female while 13 are male. The ages of the 25 patients range from six months to 60 years.
15 of the cases were recorded in Nairobi and are spread out in Eastleigh (8), Kariobangi South (10), Mathare (1), Kawangware (2), Kahawa West (1) and Umoja (2).
The remaining 10 cases were registered in Mombasa with Old Town leading with 8 cases followed by Bombolulu (1), and Jomvu (1).
At the same time, the total number of recovered patients rose by 6 to 173, while the death toll still stands at 24.
