Recent developments have brought to light proposals for Kenyan President William Ruto to address the United States Congress during his upcoming State Visit.
However, reports are suggesting that this invitation may be declined, sparking criticism from various quarters. Congressman Richard Neal from Massachusetts has voiced strong opinions on this matter, criticising the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, for allegedly failing to recognize the significance of Ruto's visit to the US. Neal has questioned why Ruto would not be allowed to address Congress when other world leaders, such as Prime Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan, President Isaac Herzog of Israel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India, and President Yoon Suk Yeol of South Korea, have been given this opportunity during their state visits.
"This Congress, the Republican leadership has invited Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, President Isaac Herzog, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and President Yoon Suk Yeol to address joint meetings of Congress during their official visits to the United States, and I see no reason why President William Ruto’s upcoming state visit should be any different." Neal opined.
Emphasizing the historical precedent, Neal underscores that even during times of global conflict and tragedy, Congress has traditionally acknowledged the importance of such visits. He has urged Speaker Johnson to extend an invitation to the Kenyan Head of State, highlighting Africa's role as an equal partner to the US and its significant contributions to the nation's rise as a superpower. Neal's sentiments have found support from Congresswoman Terri Sewell of Alabama, who has emphasized the need to enhance Kenya-US relations.
Despite unconfirmed reports suggesting that Ruto's proposal to address Congress may be declined, both leaders have stressed the value of strengthening ties between the two nations. While an official from the Speaker's office has cited a tight schedule as the reason for potentially declining the request, Speaker Johnson has yet to officially state his decision.

A few of us here have written to our Congressmen requesting them to block's wish. Given a chance, all he will do is pander to the African continent while some of us know he is nothing but the West's kitchen nigger.
Johnson is a white supremacist in sheepskin, even though Ruto was Jesus Christ himself, the white supremacist will not allow a black or brown Jesus Christ even though the real Jesus Christ himself was NOT WHITE!!!!
Ruto must not be allowed to speak to Congress! He is not worthy of that honor!
Ruto runs a corrupt regime. Who wants such vermin in Congress. Telling off John Neal.
