Raila to Formally Dump His Safaricom Line for Airtel

National Super Alliance (NASA) Chief Executive Officer Norman Magaya has announced that opposition leader Raila Odinga will migrate from Safaricom to Airtel at 4pm on Monday.

In a statement on his Twitter handle on Monday, Magaya said the former Prime Minister will visit Airtel Store on Koinange Street in Nairobi at 4 pm on Monday, where he will formally switch his line to the second biggest telecommunication firm in the country.

"The Rt Hon Raila Odinga will be migrating from Safaricom to Airtel today at 4:00pm at the Airtel Store on Koinange Street, Nairobi," Magaya said in a Tweet.

On Friday, Nasa asked supporters to boycott Safaricom, Bidco and Brookside products as part of the coalition plan to resist corporates they accuse of funding the oppressive Jubilee administration.

Nasa linked Safaricom to August 8th election rigging scheme, although the organization dismissed the claims as false.

On Monday, Safaricom dealers Association warned that the boycott called by Nasa could lead to loss of more than one million jobs and urged the opposition to reconsider the push.

“This call is likely to affect all business. Since and during the campaign period we have even at the individual dealer level, experienced a decline. We can almost with certainty say that the politics as they go they are effecting the common mwanachi including us,” Safaricom dealers chair Esther Muchemi said at a press briefing on Monday.

What is the lord of poverty going to do with the thousands of mpesa agents in luo Nyanza? Give them jobs at kisumu molasis? Meanwhile, kikuyus/kalenjins will be very busy with their coffee, tea, maize, dairy etc

Let this murderer ask all his blind followers to also leave their jobs at Safaricom and all those elected on the Naswa tickets to vacate their seats then IEBC can conduct fresh polls.
It is silly and naive for Ojinga to continually keep shooting himself on the foot.No Wonder he has no more bullets left to shoot and defend himself.

Maybe the long term lesson we should learn from all this foolishness is that: Conceding Defeat once someone is defeated is a HONORABLE thing to do.As a society we should seek to respect those that concede defeat, once defeated in a political contest. This economic sabotage and NRM fiasco is just pure madness.Jubilee should do what it can to support and protect businesses and companies in Kenya.

And the clueless press plays all along unwittingly. I'd surmise this won't cause even a 1% change in safaricom's bottom line in the long run. But a few nasarites will end up looking so dumb in hindsight.

Exactly Safaricom has 70% of market share , but they can have hope and lead by Example:-), meanwhile the risk Management team at Safaricom is busy at works, they will mitigate this small nuisance . Meanwhile we should all buy shares at Airtel and get enriched in the process when NASA makes Airtel profitable :-) Again you can skin a cat in different ways :-)-:-)
