Four Suspects Arrested over Sh65 Million Fake Gov't Tender

Detectives have arrested four people suspected to be part of a racket that has been conning Kenyans in the name of government tenders.

The suspects were arrested after attempting to defraud a businessman by promising to award him a fake government tender worth Sh65 million.

They asked him to pay the amount with assurance of getting the contract for construction of a school administration block in Sultan Hamud along the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway.

The four suspects were identified as Zacharia Joel Owuor from Komarock, Edward Mutuku Nzioki from Uthiru, George Obeli Kasasi from Kayole and Moses Mugatia Ikiugu from Ruai.

In a statement, Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) urged Kenyans who have been conned by the four to come forward.

“Have you ever been conned by these  men with a promise to award you a tender? The good news is that they were arrested yesterday (Friday),” the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said on Twitter.

Owuor, Nzioki, Kasasi and Ikiugu will be charged with obtaining money under false pretense on Monday.
